Nope, I edited the Balfour name after I saw your entry of M Hall. No relation to Glenn or Taylor. .. the latter I'm watching as a Black Hawk vs. NJ right now,, 2-1 for the Devils , oops, 3-1 

(I'd say Monte is 75% of the answer,, Hall being 25%. (90% of this game is half mental - Yogi Berra)

Fwiw,  I don't think  length of suspension [or even whether a suspension is warranted]  should be linked to the extent of an injury, or whether or not there was an injury, rather let the bull/chicken **** act stand on its own.

I watched Kypreos today a bit on his show,, he’s still harping on lack of toughness & pushback by the Leafs, lamenting the fact that 40 year old Giardano had to step up and fight next game. They get Reaves but I think he’s a healthy scratch now,, a liability on the ice.
The extent of injury , like you say, shouldn’t dictate the penalty/suspension,, I think the “ blood” rule with a high stick is dumb too.

I knew I was going to be in a little trouble and sure enough the next morning the phone rings. 'Mr. Harris, we had an incident in New York last night. Do I read right, you gave two players penalties for dancing?

Or is that a misprint?'

"Mr. (NHL president Clarence) Campbell," I said, *It was an insult to call it fighting. They shadowboxed for over a minute and were never closer than three feet apart. Not a punch was thrown."

"He said, 'Well I can understand that. But in the future just call it fighting, please."

I suppose "delay of game" would work, but otoh, I've got no problem with dancing.

Should score it like figure skating.

Didn't our man DC/MD publicly pooh-pooh sports that needed a judge to tell us who won?  ...might have even said they didn't be deserve to be called a sport.    [Dunno what his stance on boxing was.... personally I look askance at activities which aim to damage a person's brain.] 

'Way back I usta watch some of the televised figure skating, but lost mucho interest when a skater with an obviously better performance didn't win because he/she "hadn't [fully?] paid his/her dues."

Methinks MD/DC didn’t like Roouskie judges either, for that matter. The only good Red’s a dead Red….

Grandson Ollie’s team won a silver medal at a tournament in Invermere, BC this past weekend. The gold medal game,as reported by my daughter, was a nail-biter.  Banff won,, they're goalie stood on his head, apparently. (or as my long-suffering high school English teacher, Mrs. Lindsay, would sternly correct, " Charles, it should be "their", not "they're"!")

I figure it will be interesting to see how the league handles Fleury's Native American Heritage (???) mask. https://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/nhl/nhl-minnesota-wild-marc-andre-fleury-native-american-heritage-night-1.7039492    Truth be told, to me the mask looks to be honoring gardeners/horticulturalists more so than native Americans.... but what do I know??  ... could be the plants depicted have a meaning to native Americans that is lost on others??   I dunno.

I'm reminded of an incident on one of the fly-in reserves. Among the left overs from the previous teacher was a section of driftwood tree root hanging on the wall .... a 16"-18"ish section with a bit of a crook to it.... totally unremarkable [unless there was a "story" behind it].  One day a grade 9ish student was in my room, pointed to the stick and said, "That's native." I asked him how so. He explained that, "It could be used to kill a small animal."    O-k-ay.
