I dunno Bergevin's status,  but once a member of the ol' boys' club, isn't a resume just excess baggage?

Paul, you mention rolling four lines ^^.  Earlier in this thread some know-it-all posited that that was one of Winnipeg's strengths [although I think he erroneously referred to  their 3rd. line as their 4th.].

Hope the fat lady sings tonight. The Habs will need a rest while the other guys beat each other up. (But, if they lose four straight, maybe there will be a change in the office.)

I kinda feel sorry for the Jets*, but it may as well be over now.

* Not that sorry since I saw all those cheap shots after the puck was in the net.

I’m somewhat impressed with the old fossils Perry and Staal. Veteran savvy.

Yeah, and where did they get Armia and Chiarot? Hmmm?

Maybe another GM should polish his resume.

I'm also impressed with the kids, Caufield and Suzuki. They look like they've been playing together for years.

And Byron's playing well - especially for a player who was on waivers three times this year.

There seems to be some chemistry that this team has suddenly found. The new coach?

Could be finally having fans in the building, although they disposed of the Leafs before that occurred

They had fans for game six vs. the Maple Cheese.

But some Habs player seemed to think it made a difference.

Think of the shock when they go into an American arena.

Well, well,,, the TO Leaf fans (yep, not hockey fans) are irate over the CN Tower being lit up in Habs bleu, blanc, et rouge . Hah!  You'd think they might want to root for the only Canadian team left in the playoffs.

I dunno. I wouldn't cheer* for the Leafs, even after living there for 32 years. It would go against my Habstian religion. (I like the city, but not the team. I've cheered for the Jays**, don't care about basketball but was glad for the team and city when the Repeaters won.)

But I think a lot of anti-Canadiens feeling is anti-Francais rooted.

Edited to add: I very often go for the underdog. (Habs count as the underdog every time!)

*There are times when I have, such as when they were playing the Broad Street Bullies.

** Took the daughter to Skydump for the '93 celebration. Saw Bob Rae turn the crowd from boos to cheers when his turn came and he just held up a sign that said, "No speech today. Way to go Blue Jays." Brilliant.

Why they keep running Chatwood out there is beyond me. Why not send him packing to Buffalo til he finds his groove. Good grief.

Sure can. And it's amusing to see diehard Leaf fans support the team year after year, like Charlie Brown trying to kick the ball after Lucy keeps yanking it away.

We often went to breakfast at the Bloor & Jane (obviously near the corner of Bloor and Jane), It's the quintessential greasy spoon, but everyone went there - you'd see your city councillor and others. The walls were covered with Leafs stuff. Could make you wonder if Charlie Brown was Greek.

I remembered the play somewhat.... had to look up the year].

I didn't see the high stick on Perry, but I was given to understand that there were four blind mice on the ice tonight. The missed call seems to be grist for the "the NHL doesn't want Canadian teams to win" conspiracy theory mill.

At the same time, I disposed of the fifth in our house. The cat seems to still be wondering where it went.

At the college games, if we thought it was a bad call (or maybe just a call against us), we'd chant, "The ref beats his wife!"

(Holy crap! That should get him four games. I hope the league actually deals with it. It was deliberate.)

I see it as a deliberate slash, although to me Marchessault is aiming for Perry's hands or mid-section..... and his stick deflected* off of Perry's stick into Perry's mush.   However, since a player is supposed to be in control of his stick I think some supplemental (??) discipline is called for..... maybe once Perry's mush heals up H.M. can take him out for a good supper and a few wobbly pops.**

* = a.k.a. "re-directed," but I'm not as erudite as our current crop of analysts.

** = gotta get a connection, regardless of how tenuous, to the subject of the OP.  yes
