I'm guessing it was more derogatory than "your mother wears army boots".   fwiw, other than M Lucic and Todd Stottlemire, I don't recall too many others who took the  "code" with them outside the playing arena. 

Though it's use needn't be limited to the arena, my point (?) was mainly an example of how it should be applied IN the arena [i.e. "just how it should be out on da hice"] .... run off at the mouth* at  your own risk....  "protection" from the officials only on as "as needed" basis.

* along with a few other "you behave like a jerk, you get treated like a jerk" behaviours that happen during games.

I mistrust that the courts will pay more attention to the law than it will to what was said to Mr. McKenna.

We all need a break. Howzabout an OLYMPIC break? We'd all love a US/Canada final but it wouldn't surprise me to see the Swedes make trouble.

I wish to point out that my Jackie images - which have become something of a running gag with me, not because of obsession (though she IS rather fetching), but because I consider them funny - have NEVER included this much cleavage. Not that there weren't ample options out there.

I finished reading Rick Westhead's book "We Breed Lions / confronting Canada's troubled hockey culture" a few days ago.

I recommend it to anybody interested in hockey [and maybe even other sports].   In fact, IF I could, I'd make it required reading for parents of all kids that advance beyond the lower recreational levels. 

It sounds like sodomy, "hot boxes" and "elephant walks" aren't all that newsworthy, so I've cherry-picked a former player's account of one of his experiences to pique (?) peoples' interest: "[Rookies] were all forced to masturbate and ejaculate on a piece of bread," the player alleged. "The last player to ejaculate on the bread would be required to eat [it], covered in all of the other players' semen."

The book acknowledges that change will come s-l-o-w-l-y; I suppose the recent "news" about 2 young NS players allegedly using mini hockey sticks to sexually assault a team mate bears that out??

TMI! Ugly truths…

My view is that rather than TMI, it's that TLI* is getting to where it matters**.... or gets the blind eye, because I don't want to jeopardize my kid's chance to make the NHL ... or it gets pooh-poohed away.
