I realize that some parents can be kinda strange (?), but I wonder if ^^ a staged pic.
At the risk of being a "Debbie Downer" it has me recalling a bit from "We Breed Lions."
There's a reason that hotels don't want to take reservations from minor hockey teams. Kids playing mini-sticks in the hallways past midnight and sitting in restaurants and mixing pizza in their pop glasses with ketchup and salt and pepper and crayons and paper placemats. Coaches tell me they want nine year-olds wearing suits to games to show respect. And I'm like: 'Respect?? Turn around and look at how the kids are treating the server trying to bring them chicken wings.' Coaches say it's just kids being kids. They want the poor image to go away, but what are they doing to make it go away?"

The book is an eye-opener.... or maybe it's just confirmation, even for people that have loosely been "around the fringes" of sport/hockey for a considerable time.
One of the more impactful ones I've ever read. ... can't recommend it too highly ... or like I said: should be required reading for parents!!
Edit: On a more pleasant (?) note... a post about this guy advancing to the AHL appeared on my Facebook page today. I'd not heard of him before, but since he was a U. of M. "Bison" I figured I should take a peek. The Fb blurb make him sound a l-o-t more impressive than I'd've thought when I look at his +/- over the years... so far. https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=208588

Okay... an IMPORTANT question for curlers. The experts [Courtney and Howard] would have us believe that analysis down to the molecular/microscopic level, along with the associated adjustments, is a b-i-g factor. However, I see players, skips in particular, walking/sliding along the path where they're toot-de-sweet about to throw their next rock. Would the foot impressions have any effect?

A very cool trade today: Chicago has sent Uncle Nick to Minnesota, where he can finish his career playing with his brother (and considering how Minnesota is playing this year, make another serious run at The Cup). The return is described as "future considerations," which I suppose is sufficiently vague.
But the cool thing is that Uncle Nick gets to play with his little brother on a team that's actually a contender. This is as big a THANK YOU to a stalwart older player as when Boston sent Ray Bourque to Colorado.
The big question, apparently, is which one of them will be able to keep wearing numbe 17.

Totally alien concept to this 'Murrican. Must say that I approve!
I’m gittin’ auld & maybe a mite fergetful, but did I ever tell yooz guys about the St. Catharines TeePees ? They were my hometown heroes back in the day,, so they’ve put out a new video about movin’ the championship pennants from the auld “Garden City Gardens”, as Rex Stimers was won’t to say, to the new arena where the IceDogs play, afore they tore down the auld rats’ nest.

From a site called History Cool Kids >> Facebook >> BHO:
In 1974, the legal department of the Cleveland Browns sent this letter in response to a complaint from attorney Dale Cox (a season ticket holder), who had objected to fans throwing paper airplanes during games.
In his letter, Cox warned the team, "I will hold the club responsible for any injury sustained by any person in my party attending one of your sporting events."

Not to be an annoying bragging grandpa but you know….
That’s Ollie next to the Captain,, SIL Kelly on the far right (asst. coach) ,,, my daughter Andrea is team manager ,, not in this photo ( she was not contacted by hockey sleuth Ellie Friedman regarding an trade moves….)

Aside from there being mucho turmoil in the world nowadays, could somebody please explain what the hello is going on??
[Now, lest anybody get too, too excited... it's just getting to the playoff phase.]
I think it was Chuck, some pages back, who questioned grabbing the sweater with one hand and whaling away on the helmet with the other. This popped up on my Facebook page today: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1162093124767792
