Jackie is unconvinced.
This be interesting,,, methinks though, that many/some were born in the U.S. cuz their Canuckian fathers were plying their trade in the minor leagues,, to wit Matthieu Olivier (Mississippi). Ryan Hartman from the hockey hotbed of Hilton Head, SC.,, wonders never cease....

IIRC some time back mention was made about skill being the determining factor. I suspect it was/is in regards to the NHL, but as there's also been discussion (?) as to whether attitudes work their way up or work their way down, some might find this interesting: [Note: I've done no checking at all ... who needs this "two sides to every story" stuff anyway?!!?

Nope, no confusion. It was Pilous. I was sitting in the Forum stands, right beside one of the guys who was chanting it - "Peeloo! Peeloo! Peeloo!" - and they all did it in falsetto. I still don't know why that was a "thing". Was it something Rudy said?
Another win by the Habs over the Maple Cheese, although they should have put them away in the second period. Check the shot total. The Leafs's goalie kept them in the game. Good moves by Caufield and Texier in the SO.
In the previous game vs. the Loafs, the Habs skated rings around them so much that commentators were comparing it to the Globetrotters, with the Laffs being the Toronto Generals. Cue "Sweet Georgia Brown"! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MxqdiOi94Hk

Paul R So, obviously, I did some digging in the corners….
“ The chant of "We want Pilous!" by Montreal Canadiens fans was a sarcastic taunt directed at the Chicago Blackhawks' coach, Rudy Pilous, during times when the Blackhawks were performing poorly against the Canadiens.
Montreal was a dominant team in the late 1950s and early 1960s, a period during which Pilous coached the Blackhawks (1958-1963). The chant was used by the Canadiens faithful to:
Mock Chicago's struggles: By chanting the coach's name, fans were essentially highlighting the Blackhawks' poor performance and implying that a change in coaching was necessary, or that even with Pilous, Chicago could not compete with the Canadiens.
Assert dominance: The chant served to emphasize Montreal's superiority and their belief that the game was effectively over, a practice of taunting opponents that was more common in that era of hockey.
While Pilous did lead the Blackhawks to a Stanley Cup victory in 1961, which broke a long championship drought for Chicago, the Canadiens were a perennial powerhouse during that time, frequently beating the Blackhawks, especially in the playoffs. The "Pilous" chant became part of the home-ice intimidation and mockery tactics used by the Montreal Forum crowd. ”

Cassie Campbell-+ just gave us some pre-game schpiel about a team's ".... ability to transport the puck."
Anybody know what the hello she's going on about?
I've heard that hockey on the radio [back in the day??] was more exciting as it allowed for some imagination, but I'm glad we have a pic so we can figure out what's happening .... but ya never know they might start "playing with/without pace."

I'm ignorant of all the ins-and-outs, but it seems on the surface that the Oilers fleeced the Penguins in the Jarry/Skinner swap, though I "wonder" whether that alone will be enough.
Also gotta admit that Fowler for les 'abs took me by surprise [last nite]. Off the top I don't recall any other goalie whose save %age [admittedly not particularly lengthy resume] has yet to dip below .900. https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=251665 Maybe

Well, you know the code - transport the puck ,,, or OTGAO
speaking of Cassie C , I remember her first game doing colour with grumphead Bob Cole ; near the end of the game he commented, "you're doing well, girl"... every woman's libber in the country stood up with fist raised in outrage!
(not takin' sides,, just sayin')

I'd venture a guess that ^^ she didn't go on about transporting the puck or playing with/without pace. Can't say I recall any specifics, but my general impression was that somehow she must have thought that a few seconds of dead air was her mortal enemy .... yammered incessantly. ![]()
Fwiw, she seems to have improved in that regard.
Hockey on the radio? We were riveted to our old Stromberg-Carlson console radio as Rex Stimers exuberantly called TeePees games.
I like bayzbal games on radio,, it’s relaxing as well as intriguing.
hockey fights : grab the udder guy's sweater at the arms, then tug, push, & pull to git him off balance so he lets go with one o' his hands, then throw the obligatory haymaker , hitting the helmet or visor. Rotsa ruck, fellas....
