Thanks! I like this much better, and I'm on an iMac with a much larger screen than a phone ( 27" iMac ), and this provides me with a much cleaner, neater and easier to read screen.

We're trying to fix an issue right now... there's about a 50 pixel width "window" in which the right hand column is hidden, but the user profile stuff still isn't showing up at the top-left. I'm guessing that is what's happening to you.

Not sure what you're seeing or what kind of computer setup you have, Roxsanne, but what you're describing isn't what the site actually looks like. Try clearing your browser cache, and if that doesn't work post some details on your system and hopefully a screenshot.

Eric, how hard would it be to switch the left column with the right column? I bet it would make the site a lot more pleasant to use. Its just impossible to move the mouse to the back page button without activating those darn green pop-up menus. Just a thought. I do like the wider center section!

Hey Cliff,
If you move into the black but keep the cursor below the "more" tab, you can move into the black without bringing the green screens up.

Hey guys,
What's up with the way images are posting? The sizing is all screwy. My apologies if this has been brought up before in this thread. I admittedly did not have time to read it through.
Best,
Tom
loonsailor - Posted - 09/22/2017: 08:03:01
Losing the right column is a big improvement, because it gives a lot more space for content. But, there's something weird going on. The block that used to be upper right, with login-logout-homepage, is nowhere to be seen with my iPad horizontal. When I turn it to vertical, I see that block at the top of the left column, parallel with the BHO logo, only when I make the left column visible. I guess the logo is covering it when my tablet is horizontal.
Btw, I'm curious what you've done internally. Are you now using Wordpress or any CMS? Probably a separate topic, but it would be interesting to know.

Hey Eric!
Yeah, take a look at this thread (ignore the placeholders from the photobucket debacle). Scroll down to the "Banjo Blitz 22" image:
banjohangout.org/topic/327297/3
There are several images that have become scrunched in funny ways...at least on my screen. They were not like this prior to the site update.
It's probably something I'm doing wrong, but I thought I'd mention it to see if there's an easy fix!
Best,
Tom
schlange - Posted - 09/22/2017: 11:06:09
Yeah, that's funky Tom. Something we'll need to fix.
What's happening is you're putting some giant images in there, and our stylesheet is forcing the image to a particular width... but the height isn't changing. So they're getting squished.

Yeah, exactly.
I fussed with the dimensions in the "insert image" dialogue box, but even when I unlocked the height and width attributes and tried to resize manually, the images wouldn't come out right in the actual forum thread.
Thanks for looking into this, Eric. If you have any suggestions on how I can better post images, I'm all ears! Otherwise, I'll just be patient and keep doing what I'm doing.
Best,

What I would recommend is that you add your YouTube video to the BHO video library, then attach that video to your post using our attachment tool. That will embed the video nicely in your post.
We're working on changing the way these embeds work just to make them even more friendly--having the attachment image show up larger, for instance. But it works decently as-is! Give it a try?
Owen - Posted - 09/23/2017: 07:04:21
Prior to the big switcheroo, I could "Log Out" successfully about 1/2 the time.... the other half, it'd stay logged in. Since the 5.0 launch it's been logging out every time
... until last night.... opened BHO home page this morning and I'm already logged in ???

When I shall put a picture in the post and click on the Picture icon in the Rich Text part, the new dialogue box appears behind the right section (main menu). However when closing the dialogue box and open again the dialogue box shows up on the right place in the middle section where it should be.

I have a similar problem with Chrome, although I try to drag the image dialog box out to where it's useable it does'nt drag. If I grab the top a second time then it moves.
I have a LOT of mysterious behavior that rears its ugly head.
A couple of other things I've noticed (how could I NOT notice?) is other windows shelling me out to other websites happen with just a mere movement of my mouse, no click necessary. Other times I've been in the middle of composing a long reply and the window just disappears. All the methods of going to my media area and trying to find my way to something like a photo easily seems to be more shell game than anything else.
I'm making a valiant attempt at working with the new configuration but it's been so problematic that it's just plain difficult to use.
A large part of what makes things seem so difficult is the large sidebars at each side for items I really don't use much, especially the right side.
The actual post area has been degraded so much by this I'm wondering if two more bars shouldn't be added so the actual forum posting area could be a nice and manageable one word per line. ![]()
Seriously, maybe it's better for mobile users, but it's become so problematic that I'm considering just bowing out. I don't mind contributing in a positive manner or paying the member fee, but I feel like I'm fighting a loosing battle with this.

I am trying to give this change a fair trial and not react to my resistance to change. The new site feels and looks like one made to a retail instrument site I frequent. That change was made some time back. I have never liked the changes and go to that site far less than I did before the change. I do not like tge new interface and menus. It is in my experience so far to not come to this site as frequently as before tge changes. I miss tge old site.

Elderly's site changes don't get any points from me, either. I love stuff that makes it EASIER for everyone. It seems the BHO site may be improved for mobile device users, but leaves me a bit underwhelmed.
There's just SO much stuff that doesn't work or is buggy or effects my ability to read or post on the forum now. Virtually every feature I utilized on the forum is now much more difficult to use. I'm not a Luditte and I accept change if it's for the better, even if it takes me some time to adapt. After a couple of weeks the new format isn't giving me warm and fuzzies.

Rudy, you wrote "Virtually every feature I utilized on the forum is now much more difficult to use."
Can you give me specifics? Because from my standpoint, virtually every feature of the forum is either the same or improved. I can think of two things that could use improvement over the old site, and those are:
Anyway, like I said--just looking for specifics. General comments like "I don't like it" or "It's not as good as the old one" aren't going to help us improve things.

That's the main "banner ad", replacing the animated ones that were in the top-right of every page on the old site. It's not part of your FriendFeed... it's just located above it.

Thanks for the reply. The tabs link appears to be working for some members, but not others. I'm certain that Stanleytone kept a tab library on the old page. Here's an old thread that references it. banjohangout.org/archive/255866

Maybe one of these days we'll load them in for him!
