Question, may be dumb but I was wondering if I saved the tracks on another computer if I can put them on a zip and use them on another computer. I don't have internet at home.. I dont want to infringe on anything or if this isn't good policy I wouldnt do it. Thanks and BTW this is a great resource.

Yes,  you should be able to zip them, save them, and play them anywhere since they download from the BH player as .mp3 files,  playable on even the crummiest Microsoft PC. I don't know about any music rights infringement or anything like that, but it's all for personal use so it shouldnt be a problem.

Mark - thank you so much for creating these tracks!  It's amazing how much better/more quickly/more enjoyably I can learn a song when I practice against a backing track.

Our slow jam group is currently working on Katy Daley.  If you're still taking requests, I would love to have a backing track to practice along with.

Good stuff, Mark. I've been using some of your back up tracks with both the guitar and banjo. Found out that my banjo version of  "I'll Fly Away " was a little off. I had to start all over with it and it's coming along.

I scanned one BIAB (2012) with 5string.sty , but it is only midi voice was not real acoustic of course.

I've got the Bluegrass Styles 33 add-on to my 2009.5 BIAB, but the clarity and quality is just not there when I run them through.

What Style are you entering in the Style Box?  I have about 10 Bluegrass Styles such as _BG_BAND Straight-Ahead Bluegrass etc, etc.?

Thank you for your suggestion, however I don't have that particular Style available on my system.

Can you send me an email with a single BIAB tune file with that Style on it please, and I'll try and run that?

I'm trying to get an understanding of BIAB now that I've come across something I like and can use.

I've had a love/hate relationship with BIAB because of it's apparent complexities.  Now there's maybe a glimmer of hope.



Here's the situation: When I download the mp3 from beckyboy's list and import it into BIAB, it comes up as Bluegrass 101 and plays in midi.  I don't get the RealTracks sound.

When I copy one of Dave Marshall's files which as you state, are all in 5String.sty, and try and convert them to one of the Bluegrass Styles with RealTracks on my system, it doesn't sound anything like beckyboy's quality mp3 sound.

So by deduction, there may be a difference between my 2009.5 BIAB and what version you and others may have.  Alternatively,  Dave Marshall's files may have been upgraded since I downloaded them three years ago.  And, maybe I may need to un-install and re-load BIAB?



I've previously found the BIAB forum helpful.  I may try a post there to see if I can understand the problem I have.



I have RealTraks set 8 (Country Folk), RealTraks Set 11 (All Bluegrass (Rhythm), RealTraks Set 12 (All Bluegrass Solos) and RealTraks Set 33 (Bluegrass Medium Tempo).



Any further advice much appreciated.

Royce... If you have Amazing Slow Downer you can bring them into that and speed them up and re-save them at the faster tempo. I second gulyrob's request for Locust hill tab..or video... or whatever....we'll pay money

That version of locust hill is something that I heard one time but don't even know if I'm playing it exactly right. I've never seen it tabbed out and to be honest haven't seen anyone play it. I think I have it on my youtube channel on video. Look under my username "burtvillefarms" and there is a video of me playing a few versions of it. It's really not that hard to play once you get a few simple blues runs down. I could always video a slow version of it and put it on youtube.

That video is very helpful. I have the main riff and a couple of variations of that worked out but the blues runs you mentioned are what I am particularly interested in. So if you ever do get a chance to do a slow version video I for one would greatly appreciate it. That song as well as several of your others I've heard that you posted in your music archive several years ago inspired the heck out of me. Thanks for sharing.
