I am simply a novice banjo "player"... if what I do could be called "playing" I received a Rogue starter banjo Christmas 2007 from my kids, and doodled around , on and off for a couple of years. Back in November 2011, I was invited to help out in a friend's "country" band (really country / gospel / bluegrass) and picked up a Fender Leo, used, from a BHO member. Awesome banjo, been playing hard since. I know all the major and minor chords, and a few 7ths Have been struggling getting any kind of consistency, mostly trying bluegrass style I "know" a few tunes, though my memory is shot and I always have a tough time just playing them "off the cuff" so to speak. welcome any and all to discuss early learning challenges of banjo playing :) An avid student of the Bible, usually attending a church affiliated with Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa CA. Of course, love bluegrass gospel! Sometimes participate in Ham Radio as KA2CZU.
