That's Debbie's favorite part. She likes her hot dogs like that too when roasted over a fire.

Originally posted by rinembLooks good to me Randy. I wondered with barrel cooking how you keep bottom of a long rack from getting overcooked to the point of not edible. What if you wrapped the bottom few ribs with several layers of foil? you might lose the smokiness, but you could designate those as sauce ribs? Brad
It really doesn't do too bad. You can see the bottom 2 ribs are a little dark, but definitely eatable. And if I had been watching closer, I would have seen the hot spot developing under that rib and moved it.

We built Sunday dinner with salmon filets flanked with refrigerator clean out: Marilyn made the roast potato-green beans side, and the roast carrots. I skillet cooked the salmon in browned butter, finishing by adding lemon zest and juice then basting with the pan liquid. Meal included leftover sourdough bread and French butter.
Don’t forget dessert! Later we ate a fresh peaches crisp Marilyn made, drizzled with heavy cream. Brad

Steve, that fish fry sounds amazing and right up my alley!!! We went (reluctantly) to the U.P. State Fair the other night as we haven’t been in many years. Walked The Whole fair grounds trying to decide what to eat. Wife got her traditional Corn Dog and kettle corn. I ended up going to a local stand that serves Local Fresh fried Whitefish and ribbon fries with coleslaw and beans. It was hot and fresh, just like it was 3 days before when we traveled 80 miles round trip to eat their fish at their stand that they set up in the middle of nowhere!!! Gotta love fresh fish and seafood……..not much better!!!
Slammer!!!
Homemade pizza (no pics) using a super thin crust from Ocean State Job Lot. Canned sauce from the same place, sausage and onions plus some tiny hot red peppers.
One of us (i.e. me) accidentally bought fake vegan mozzarella from Aldi and I noticed it looked weird when I started putting it on the pizza. I assured Al that it was a mistake and I wasn't trying to put something over on him!
And it wasn't at all bad when augmented with some REAL cheddar and parmesan.
