Yesterday I made fresh apple “French style” cake/gateau. French, because I used butter instead of oil. Anyway, I took part or it to neighbors. The scary thing is this couple were both chefs and fancy restaurant owners their entire adult lives. They still cater and bring us dishes throughout the year.
Brad
Al, we were not so fancy tonight. First a bag of lime Tostitos and Canned margaritas on the front porch, watching the Sunday rods and bikes going by. Then home made tacos-Taco Bell style. We wrapped a skillet brown soft tortilla over a crunch taco shell (glued with refried beans) then packed it full of fixins. Brad

Btw....love old copper bottom revereware your sauce pan/pots appear to be? I grew up on a big set of those. Then when we got married in the early 70s, we got it all. We used them 20 years more, before sacrificing most of it to a garage sale. We did keep a few pieces, though. Brad
Tis the season!!! Made a big pot of Venison bionic beer chili ( contest winning I might add ) along with some great crusty multi grain bread from the Huron Mountain Baking Co. and some good cold butter!!! Add an icy cold PBR and ol’ Slammer is a Happy Camper. Colder weather means the house starts smelling good again cooking indoors and making soups, stews, casseroles, baked goods, and pots of thick rich saucy stuff!!!
Slammer!!!
I picked up Marilyn after trip to Vermont with a classmate whose family has a long ancestry of both wealth and hardship in early Vermont.
She was ready for a simple dinner
At home. We ate BLTs, product of both our gardens and the store. I spit-balled a salad of both garden grown and aging vegetable drawer veggies. Tomatoes, cucumber, green onion, celery, peas, In a bath of blended mayo and vinegar. A few chips to round out the plate. Simple pleasures! Brad
