I’m not a big wine drinker, but I would like to find a decent GOTO wine to have on hand and start enjoying!!!

I will keep you posted.  We have been to a couple of ED red wine tastings lately. Presented by our town's highest rated and highest certified sommelie.   We are closing in a decision. Update, hopefully soon.

We do. But they are not allowed to sell wine and spirits in Kansas.  Nor any grocery stores. What does two-buck chuck cost nowadays?

A Total Wine store came to town last year. They have put a dent in sales and pricing in our town. For now. I have gone there if a good sale is on for a wine I know and like. Maybe twice. I am loyal-ish, to 3 liquor stores in my area. One in particular. They have been helpful in our quest for a 15$ +/- everyday red wine. But we are not there yet. Some blends are even making our list, along with some imports. We want find one that we hope will on the market a couple of years. Thanks for the continuing discussion. Brad

Oregon finally got Trader Joe's, but no hard liquor. Two buck chuck is now four bucks, usualy includeds chardonnay, cab, & merlot. My malbec ranges from $5/15. Hard liquor prices are regulated by the liquor board. Stores are finaly open on Sundays. Although no sales tax in Oregon, booze is cheaper in CA, even with their sales tax.

Side dish, entree, snack, dessert (with homemade vanilla ice cream), whatever.

A new recipe, blueberry cornbread. Pretty good. I may experiment, combining it with my usual cornbread recipe, which is a bit simpler.

Here’s the deal. We made a rare trip to a drive-through for a burger. Turns out they had a 6 cheeseburgers for 7 dollars deal. We bought em, for lunch. Dinner time arrives. We get to thinking about what options with leftover made-up whole hamburgers. We made a “real” hamburger casserole. We toasted both sides of burgers to get toasting on buns, chopped up the leftover whole 4 hamburgers, added some old cheese (needing used) , added 5 whisked up eggs, stirred the mess together, put in in buttered pan, and baked it until top browned a bit (about 30 min).
Was it great, hmmm. But better than a stale soggy old drive through hamburger. Brad

Calzones! Dough from an excellent local bakery, sausage, onions, ricotta, mozzarella, and Trader Joe's marinara sauce.

Today, drove to both my parents home town in SE Kansas for two reasons. First, to gather up all the fresh flowers containers we set at many of my peeps graves. Second, get lunch to go at M&M Meals, a southern soul food inspired joint. Then we took it across the street to the community park I played in since I was born. The food good as usual. The memories in the park incredible. Including, thinking about my cousin, who I had many adventures in that park. Sadly, cancer took him when we were in 9th grade. Brad
