Sunday night is always pizza night at our house, but had to change things up for the Super Bowl this last weekend , so Pizza night was moved to Monday. Had my dough doing a long 72 hour cold rise/fermentation and the further the day went I was not feeling hungry for pizza or anything for that matter. Turns out I’ve got the stomach flu and two bites into one of the best pies I’ve ever made , I had to quit !!!
Homemade fennel sausage and onion pie (my favorite) and made me sick just looking at it. Hope I’m better before the leftovers go bad!!!
Slammer!!!

We will do fish, if my brother and his wife join us. If not, we usually have a thick marbled ribeye with fresh green beans and a baked potato, along with a nice roll or two. Wine choice depends on fish or beef. Brad

Terry, just ask Figmo and he’ll be the first to tell you I have more “Favorites” than a guy should, but when it comes to Spaghetti and Meatballs, it’s in my Top 3 and those are hard to narrow down. What makes yours Special??? Mine has 2 secret ingredients that are not common in a meatball that make people take notice and always ask. They always taste the same and I do not have recipe, just been making em for a long damn time.
If I had to choose a Last Meal, spaghetti and meatballs would be in the mix!!!

Last night I threw together a combination use what you have and fridge clean out soup.
A carrot, onion, garlic, tomato based, ham, pasta, and bean soup, with some herbs and chicken stock. Side of heated old bread. Brad

Good call JD, but no!!! I love fennel, but not in my meatballs. I just looked at over 300 different recipes on an Italian food/meatball forum and not one of them mentioned my 2 secret ingredients and actually surprised the hell out of me!!! No wonder they’re so special!!!

Venison meatball grinders made with "fatti" Italian bread from the Plum Tomato, one of our go-to restaurants for excellent sandwiches and salads.

We have a local butcher and meat market that do carry frozen venison and elk meat etc. usually frozen. ground meat to steaks to roasts. I miss that meat. Al, you are influencing me! I think I will head down to that market, near Wichita. Brad
