I moved my schwenker grill to behind the garage where once a mighty maple stood. Last night I built a small fire and bed of briquettes and hickory. Just enough for a single ribeye for two. It was so much better tasting than my ol gasser. Along with steamed green bean with tarragon and butter, a chopped homegrown tomatoes and cucumbers salad, and warm baguette slices. Brad

When I built it, I bought SS chain and SS swinging grill grate , along with ball bearing swivel. The chain still shines like new!  The spinning and swinging over fire really evens the heat distribution, especially when cooking over burning wood. That is how they used it in W Germany.
.....in its new spot I will do some landscaping around it.  Rock or pavers for a foot or two around the pit,  (for safety), not sure about the of the area between garage and shed.

Sunday evening: I did a spatchcocked chicken, well schmeered with an herbed olive oil/butter goo. I picked from the garden rosemary, thyme, and sage and finely chopped it all. Roasted in the gasser-with the smoke box smokin. Marilyn made side with potatoes and green beans. Brad
