Last night was Mexican pork, Cuban beans, Sopa and tortillas.
If anybody is looking for THE BEST store bought tortillas, this brand can be purchased at Sam’s Club or Walmart. They do have to be cooked in a hot dry pan or griddle, but they are game changers and I dare you to find better!!!
Found in the refrigerator section.
Slammer!!!
I found an English Roast a the grocery store yesterday that looked perfect for Sous Vide. On sale for 6.29/lb. $12.00 hunk of meat.
Seasoned and vacuum packed and dropped in a bucket of water at 135 degrees for 24 hours. Then removed from bag , dried, and seared in Cast Iron on my wok burner.
Great crust, tender like prime rib, but ate like Filet Minion. It came out perfect medium. I prefer more rare but Mrs. Slammer likes it a bit more done.
Left over steak & eggs I’m thinkin!!!
Slammer!!!

Christmas Eve: We had our small family CE vegetarian soup dinner, always themed. This year theme was horses. Since we needed vegetarian, horse meat was out! ;-). So, we made an Indian soup called “horse gram” soup, named for the lentil style grain/bean? It was loaded with Indian spices, including fenugreek. Served with Mann. My hit appetizer was purple potato bites: sliced boiled purple baby pots, salted, a small dollop of a crème fraiche mixture with horse radish, dill, and chive. A portion of decent caviar on top with a dill frond. Brad. (Thepic of potatoes is from the web, I forgot to take a pic)
