That's a smoked pork belly.  Right after the pic was taken I ran it through the slicer.  We have lots of gooooood bacon!

I am planning to make a sauerkraut suppe this weekend. I did not make kraut this fall, so I bought some boutique made kraut from a maker in town. I am adding carrots, but waffling on adding potatoes? It will have diced Keilbasa and possible some diced German ham I need to use up? Brad

Bread making is a good thing! So economical as well. Since bread freezes good, or French toast, or bread pudding…or the birds outside.
Four ingredients, and BAM. Brad

I hacked a sauerkraut suppe recipe so much I will call it my own. Trouble was. With the added vegetables and simmer time, my broth went to saucy. But still it was good. Though rich! On the reheat I will cut it with more chicken broth/stick, and add more kraut and kraut juice. Brad

The only thing about the U.P. to be embarrassed about is that there are so many Packer fans up there.  Maybe should have given it to Wisconsin.  Great game though.

Thanks,  With all the hacking and additions, I should probably call it Sauerkraut stew.  Brad

Stir fry using leftovers: chicken, rice, and peas. Onion, garlic, ginger, and commercial teriyaki sauce. And some soy and hot sauces:
