Well, if I'm being perfectly honest, I'da thunk.

To reiterate, how's the fishing?

Spaghetti tonight, with a homemade sauce that uses sausage and onions and I'm gonna fire-roast some tomatoes out of my boy's garden.

Many issues and distractions the past few months, but I'm moving through and remembering that if you don't reach out every now and then, people might think you're dead!

Well, fishing has been good and water temps are so warm, we are doing only catch and release. We prefer colder water fish and we have plenty.
Food is great and the Grandkids are funnier than hell , and then $hit happens.
We’re out on da pontoon boat cruising the lake, having snacks and swimming.
Got bit by a horsefly in the ankle (had many bites all week no problem) and itched like hell. Then my hands started itching and my ears and eyes. Next my mouth is tingling, and my tongue feels thick. At this point I see the look on my son face and we are off and cruising back to the cabin. Grab Benadryl from a neighbor and now my breathing is labored.
20 min run to the hospital and I don’t get nervous too often but Sonny boys face and driving said it all!!!
Now tongue is huge and blocking airway, can’t swallow, and hardly get air.
3 EpiPens, an IV full of antihistamines and other stuff, an airway team from respiratory therapy , 10 hours later and I’m still here and back on da water!!!
Anaphylactic shock and still unknown why. Bites, food ( street corn flavored corn nuts, cheese balls or my BP medication. Until it happens again , we won’t know. But I’m all good and fishin away!!!

oh, and leftover Steak salad tonight!!!
Slammer!!!

Dale, I am happy you are back on the water so soon. And I hope is was not the PBR that caused the reaction! Brad

Sharptail Grouse breast wrapped in bacon and grilled on the pellet smoker.
I have the house to myself tonight so I don't have to deal with anyone turning up their noses at game meat. Just a few of those tasty morsels left from last hunting season.

That sounds good. BTW.  Welcome to the food forum.  We have cooks of all kind posting here, with so many things to offer.  Again, welcome.  Brad

Thanks Brad.  I wasn't sure if my post would fit here because... I'll be honest...  I haven't read all 107 pages yet.

I just scarfed down 3 big grouse breasts so I'll probably need a nap first!

Have you ever hunter sharptail grouse?  It's actually red meat, unlike the more common ruffed grouse.  Yep!  It was good!

Kinda sad because I can't go to Montana this season.  Glad I still have a few morsels left from last year!
