Recently?? Yah, like since 1970 ... with '82, '94 and 2011 being inexplicable exceptions. ![]()
CF?? I must not get out enough... I had to look it up; you get no argument from me. [ A friend of mine had shortwave (?) license Victor Echo 8 Charlie Foxtrot, so that's my default.]
I've never been a fan of the team [maybe those UGG-LEE "V" sweaters did it for me]. I normally don't watch any of their games, 'cept maybe vs. Habs or Jets, so I could be ill-informed.

Originally posted by OwenCaught tonight's Connor Bedard Show at the Cgy. Saddledome on TSN. Just another ho-hum nite.... 3 goals, the second tied it with 33 seconds left in regulation and then the winner in the shoot-out. Tonight's attendance 17,223 ... season average 4,325.
Amazing that a kid who hasn't even been drafted yet is so freaking good that he can sell out an arena just by himself... given that first draft picks go to the lowliest of teams, one wonders how many years it will actually be before he's on a team in the Finals.
...and in the interest of accuracy, I gotta ask: "What game you watchin' there, Owen.?" On the tying goal Bedard thought his shot went in, but there was a bit of a scramble and after the repay the goal was scored by Suzdalev. I offer up a Canadian "Sorry." [Maybe I should include "E. & O. E." in my posts.... like you used to see on business letters.]
From ”The Code – The Unwritten Rules of Fighting and Retaliation in the NHL”. > Hockey Beast > Facebook > BHO:
Mike Peluso: "It was always incentive not to get cut on the road during a fight, because you would get sewn up by the home team’s doctor. Man, those guys would give you the s***tiest stick jobs you could ever imagine. When you got home and had your doctor look at it he would go ’Who the hell did this?’ They would put like three stitches into a cut that needed 15!”
Didn't DC/MD periodically refer to "The Code"?

Chuck, you have soft spot for "les Hexpo," no? Maybe this is for you....
Who in the heck needs hockey anyway?? https://www.hockeylatest.com/Dallas-stars-fan-challenges-dude-twice-his-size-and-gets-absolutely-rocked-207295
From Hockey beast >> Facebook >> BHO:
When Detroits’s Marcel Pronovost played the 1961 Stanley Cup Finals with a severely broken ankle: ”I would walk into the rink on crutches with a removable cast on my ankle. They’d remove the cast, then I would get all dressed for the games except for that one foot. Just five minutes before the national anthem, they would come in with the needles, inject my ankle and I would lace up my skate and go play. But because I was so active, it would wear out. What they would do is put my foot in a bucket of ice, then hot water, then a bucket of ice, then hot water.”
I played rock/paper/scissors to decide whether to post here or in the "opening day rule changes" and .......... https://www.hookedonhockeymagazine.com/nhl-legend-wayne-gretzky-takes-the-stage-to-suggest-groundbreaking-rule-change-for-nhl/#:~:text=Gretzky%20is%20upset%20about%20this,shot%20clock%20in%20the%20shootout.&text=Gretzky%20proposes%20a%20%22shootout%20shot,media%20could%20not%20be%20played.&text=This%20would%20undoubtedly%20alter%20the%20shootout%20and%20make%20it%20less%20lopsided.
I guess I'm more-or-less satisfied with the shoot-out and I probably don't pay close enuff attention to offer a suggestion for improvement (?). What does "get me" however is the number of guys that meander in [i.e. a Sunday afternoon la-de-da] apparently without any plan of attack... I.e. interpret that as: Speed more-or-less down the middle and either a snap shot from the slot or carry on and give 'im the ol' how-do-ya-do!!!!!
And furthermore if it was Bobby Orr, the real GOAT saying it, I'd probably pay closer attention. ![]()

Call me conservative (WHAT ??) but this phony baloney shoot-out stuff with tricky Habs doing the fancy-pants , la-dee-da moves rankles my trad brain. What ya need is a tough, lumbering defenceman to stymie any o’ dat with an elbow or two to the schnozz. Besides, the extra point makes it harder (ie, more difficult) for teams to catch others above’em in the wild card race,,, or is my math and statistical analysis wrong?
You mean ties during the regular season? I'm okay with that too. The teams trying to make it as a wild card shouldn't wait 'til the last 10 games of the season .... after all, don't the "experts" start talking about the playoff implications of games along 'bout late October?
...where does 3-on3 fit in? ... or does it?
I like 3 on 3 ,, exciting and you used to see it more often during regulation time wit’ guys in da sin bin. But the stretch pass deez daze makes it harder to defend. So I says, keep the 3 on trois overtime & can the shoot outs. If it's still tied, so be it.
As for October games being as important as March games, some teams for whatever reason will always be on the cusp. Others might have early injuries and have to play catch-up.

I think I'm gonna watch more women's curling... ![]()
From Curling Canada:
"History has been made!! Team Alberta is the first team to win both the Canadian Under-18 and Under-21 curling championships! SKIP: Myla Plett / THIRD: Alyssa Nedohin / SECOND: Chloe Fediuk / LEAD: Allie Iskiw / COACH: Blair Lenton."

Dude... according to the caption, these gals are still jailbait...
Shall we return to hockey? This is gonna be a FUN playoff series! Special congrats to the Kraken, who have clinched a wildcard playoff spot in their second year of existence. And here in Noo Wingland, we got a nice little preview of a potential matchup last night when the Bruins beat the Leafs in OT.
I know ignorance is no excuse, but, but, but, until I "looked it up" I thought they'd won the U18 three years ago. And anyhoo, since I go with what my TV foists on me, I'll only be watching it/them if/when they reach the Scotties.
I've long maintained that playoff interest in Canada is cut in about half if/when the les 'abs are eliminated [along about Christmas time this season, wasn't it?]. Go, Yankees!! Go!!
What the??? .... I guess it just seems like it was Christmas time. ![]()
