Nah, walk straight west into the background  for about 6 miles and you'll come to Saskatchewan.... the buzz on the street is that SK is flat.    At about 5.5 miles you'll have to cross the Assiniboine River..... this map https://en-ca.topographic-map.com/maps/en5m/Russell/ shows an elevation change of about  575 feet.... from driving through on the highway, I wouldn't have guessed that much.... maybe one needs to walk it to bring the message home.

Johnny Bower (remember him ?!) said they used to play hockey on the N. Saskatchewan River at 35 below. If somebody iced the puck they’d have to skate 2 miles to retrieve it.

Chuck, you haven't been payin' attention.  One of my beefs is the mediocre experts refusal to answer questions.  Like my mammy used to say: "You might as well save your breath to blow your porridge."    I think it was only once [tho it might have been twice] but my MLA so far has declined to acknowledge that he even recieved my email(?).   Fwiw, he was a long-time NDP supporter who, according to an aunt of his "saw an opportunity," and switched to the PCs [in our strong PC riding] for our last election.  I'm not sure which is the greater lost cause/useless teat.

I can go for it, since it's a "solid plan."  It's the "based on sound science" stuff  that bamboozles me.

I cancelled my sportsnet now subscription (I refuse to pay for cable) after the the baseball and hockey were over so I’m not watching the juniors. I might re-sub now to watch the finals & then the NHL starts play on Jan. 13. The main man for my Blackhawks , J. Toews from the “Friendly” is ill, undisclosed,,sounds like mononucleosis the way he described it. He won’t be suiting up anytime soon.

As I understand it, it was the timing more than the restrictions per se.  One restaurant owner was on, saying that he was adhering to guidelines [reduced capacity to 50%, etc.] and was upset because she hadn't announced it earlier... to save him work and $$. 

She couldn't see the likelihood [of increased consumption and/or risky behaviour] last weekend, or on Monday or Tuesday, but it became apparent on Wednesday??  Sounds like "sound science" at it's best!!        Was it her and Camille's similar pronunciation of "aboot" that got you wondering?

One article mentioned it was unusual for her to rule this way,,so late-in-the-day giving these orders (there’s that Jazz word again). If they go into "bubbles" for a 56 game season, does that mean the players will be deprived of the conjugal attractions of their mates and the comfort of their families for the duration? I'm thinkin' it could get pretty chippy on the ice, taking out their frustrations on their opponents, if that were the case. Dump, chase, and hack away.

Paul, the “bubbles” were in place last fall for the Trawnna & Edmonchuck games. I do suspect ,however, that there might have been some, ahem, discretionary conjugal visits. D & C ...? That applies in MD/DC’s world, whether you’re gettin’ any or not. It’s dem la-dee-da fancy-pants players that are kinda suspect,, you know, they go in a corner where they should be wearin’ skirts.

I've read where off the ice DS was one of the nicest people one could hope to encounter.  I remember a clip where his team mates were giving him the gears for being credited with a goal when a shot he apparently didn't even see deflected off his arse.  Not quite in the same league as Canseco's off-the-noggin homer, but...... .
