One of the things I enjoy about Banjothon, is getting to hear some of the great young pickers like Brandon Henson, Daniel Martin, and this young man I think was national champ recently. I hope he doesn't mind me posting this..if you close your eyes, you can almost hear DR pick Earls Breakdown (grins) and Don picking Limehouse Blues..played on DA-5055 (of course,..:)

I wish I could take credit for this one..but this is pro picker Larry Perkins who graciously allowed me to post this so others might enjoy. Nothing but Larry, the ' 38 RB-75 banjo, and the recorder, sitting out in my back yard, so it is unaltered sound. BTW, needs to be up toward the top on the volume control for best listening over headphones. Thanks Larry..

I had the pleasure of getting to hear Ron pick on my old flathead. My first impression of Ron..very down to earth person, even humble regarding his picking ability..but he is right up there with Mr Earl, Sonny and JD in my opinion..a great picker who brings out the best in an old banjo..:)

If you want to hear what this is supposed to sound like, go to Gibson's site and listen to Sonny do it like it should be done,ha..just overlook my picking and try to listen to the tone of the banjo. Best over headphones with the volume kinda up toward the higher end..Thanks for listening
