I had the honor to get to record Gene for a few min at Banjothon. He has the most solid and sweetest sounding tone that I have ever heard come out of a banjo! BTW, this is unaltered sound, just Gene and the banjo! Thanks to friend Clarence Hall for helping to make this happen. Hope you enjoy him as much as I do..what a talent on the banjo..:)

John I am glad you got Gene to play Struttin' to Ferrum. We tried to get him to play in Friday night in the hotel room and I guess he just didn't feel like doing it. haha

What a great player, not enough people know about.......he tastefully took many of Sonny's licks to Gene's level. He is not like anyone, he is Gene Parker. David

He's the best, and such a wonderful person to boot!! Gene is so mild-mannered, but when he gets the five in his hands, he is like a matador with the cape. His playing is so expressive--words can't describe what he can do with a banjo.

Maybe this is as close as we'll get to a new album featuring Gene, BUT I'LL GLADLY TAKE IT! Oh my gosh, what a great reminder of why I love those old Lost & Found records so much. His phrasing is incredible and completely unique. Thanks so much! What banjo is he playing?

I certainly agree with all of the above..Gene is picking my flathead RB-75 DA-5055. I felt honored to be sitting across from him listening to some awesome picking..

I feel the same way Larry..I listen to it two or three times a week while I am riding the stationary bike, listening to the I lpod..and never get tired of hearing it. Gene is one heck of a picker..:)
