(old time and celticy, fantasy? (LOL!)) Fiddle is way easier for bluegrass! But old timey, old english, etc - all that ancient stuff too - YUM!

I'm a fiddler -(ladymuse at Fiddlehangout)
Been passionate for music all my life - play anything I can get my hands on, write classical choral music (and instrus) - set up an alternative booking agency (everthing NOT top 40)
but got royally addicted to banjo when A., (Met Terry Koken, Banjo pard who kidnapped me and fiddle) (LA, Ca), and
B., - years later when a friend dropped me off 5 string to play with in the middle of nowhere in Northwest Az .
Over here a lot, since there is lots of mutual interaction, so figured I had better sign up!

Go for clawhammer, (style - Flail (close eyes and aim!) -(as opposed to frail! LOL!)
...And Yea, I just recently found out that I was trying to learn claw in Bluegrass tuning!
But I can fumble some really mean fiddle melodies real good in the key of G!!!! (up to fiddlin speed!) But now I am going to start learning it right, thanks to Dan (Levenson) Had no idea I was even holding it wrong (like brolken arms) (self taught with no real clue, and no banjo players near!)
Wow! what a difference!!! LOL!
