So, the misses has been taking dulcimer lessons, she's had four so far, and she is already getting pretty darn good. So I figured, since she is learning most in DAD tuning, that I better start learning some stuff in C tunings. I have been using Wayne Erbsens Ignoramus book, and this week have been learning Old Molly Hare, Old Blue, (which is surprisingly fun when adding hammer-ons), and Cumberland Mountain Deer Chase, which I think I am really gonna like when my fingers get it memorized. There is a picture of Uncle Dave Macon from about 1925 in the book, and boy does he look like he's having fun. This banjo stuff is the best!!!
P.S. I suppose I should learn something she plays, but I don't have any of the right tab yet. Playing together should be fun too. I wonder how long that will take?

I started playing clawhammer style banjo in May of 2006. I took lessons from Fritz Schuler in the fall/winter of 2006. Other than that, I've been using Wayne Erbson's Ignoramus book and Ken Perlman's DVD. I enjoy playing and practice every single day....Or.... If you prefer.....I'm a rip-snortin', clawhammer playin', motorcycle ridin', airplane flyin', father of two, grandfather to two, husband of one dulcimer playin', sweet lookin, woman o' mine.
