Sorry about your Birthday meal Jonty, I would have wrestled your SIL to the ground for a plate of roast beef hash!!! I love hash and my mum made the best and it was always fried in lard and fried crispy and smothered in ketchup!!! I’d have heartburn for a week!!!
Happy belated birthday buddy , and hope you get a redo on your meal cuz although I enjoy a cheese sammich, it just don’t cut it for a B-day treat !!!

Thanks mate - I'm sure we will make up for it. Just dragged my sorry arse off the bed to go collect an ill son from school - looks like we are all having flu!
By the way, if you can ever find some. HP sauce is absolute killer on hash....
Brad, besides staring at the beautiful wood grain of that table , I also had to zoom in on that Thomy tube and see that is mustard. Never heard of it. I know you are into mustards and when I googled Thomy, it came up on Amazon with all 5 star reviews. Why am I not surprised??? Delish looking German meal!!! What’s in the bowl???

The bowl is full of drying/dried basil flowers. We pick them as they grow to enjoy the aroma. We we leave some on the plants for the bees, though.

Brad you may have more luck in your investigation if you search for 'Pommes Anna' that's what us la di da folks call it
Alright then, my wife will like it, because its French! After all, frites tastes better than french fries, eh. ;-) Brad
The first thing I made when I was allowed to do more than be ornamental, was a ham and 'bassy in the oven. No pictures, as my stove has been kind of dubious since I acquired it (50 bucks, so can't complain too much), but it made my celebratory dinner into a nice black char, and since I love ham, that was IT!!!! after the much cursing and other acts of petulance, we went to town for something totally unrelated, and ended in appliance aisle, and got a brandy-new 'big girl' stove with ALL the bells and whistles- convection oven, and it has a built in air fryer, but haven't been brave enough to poke the buttons to make it go.
The first thing I made was Chicken Bake- basically homemade stuffing balls with shredded chicken mixed in, then the whole deal covered in gravy and baked. So yummy!! No pictures, as it didn't last long, lol
Tonite Bob is making BBQ roast in the crock pot. Its been a busy couple of weeks, as on the way back from eye surgery, the subframe left go on our little SUV, so we've been putting my 2003 Silverado back on the road, and it needs a little TLC. So we've been driving the Trans Am around, lol. It's great, other than that it gets about 13 MPG, but it's all good. Never a dull moment in my life! :)
Must be on the same page Jonty .....……… I made Yooper style Fish & Chips tonight with coleslaw!!! The fish was perch and walleye caught in my backyard !!!
Homemade tarter sauce and had 2nds on the fish and enough left over for a Saturday fish sandwich for lunch !!! No waiting on the pints here!!! Had an early start on those!!!

Mystery Meal? Baked chicken breast and fried rabbit with Lima beans?
Dinner tonite was left over stuffed cabbage soup that a friend brought in to work for me. Had some crusty bread and butter, and life is good!
Truck is ready to put the new (old) bed on. Had to redo brake lines, fuel lines, crossmember, bit I've had this pickup forever, so I know it was worth fixing. Just not much time to cook right now, lol.
