We are doing a “comfort food” weekend. Marilyn made tuna casserole, the same recipe as when we were dating. Tonight I am making a grandma’s beef and noodles. I will do a non-cream sauce version of beef&noodles since that was in the tuna casserole. Update tonight! Brad

I am at best "ok" with tuna casserole, but would not miss it if never made.  If someone else bothers to cook, I will eat it.  Brad

Update.  2-1/2 lb of large chunked out quality browned beef chuck in a beef stock with sautéed onion, garlic, and beef drippings.  A couple of bay leaves and sprigs of time tossed in.  In a few hours beef will have simmered to pull with forks tender.  Add more stock and boil the wide egg noodles. Simple, dairyless, then hopefully comfort food good!  Between the tuna casserole and the beef and noodles, I know what we will be eating all week. Brad

Yes, crushed enough Lays Kettle chips to smother the top.  Marilyn forgot to add the peas, so me says cook up some of them frozen green orbs and we can top our serving each with peas-as desired.  That worked great!

Nope, Tuna is Tuna. Wouldn’t taste the same. Lake fish would be too mild, good, but gotta have that tuna!!!

Here we go. Beef and noodles, sided with peas. Mrs. Millers thick wide egg noodles were great. About 3 hours of simmer on the beef chunks- that fork pulled wonderfully. Brad

Just looked those up and yup, NEVER seen those around these parts. Might have to order online. They have a great variety and the pot pie squares look intriguing too.

Slammer, you do a lot of onion-y pizza. My wife does not like onion in her pizza…until I tell her I am making tarte flambee/flammekuchen (Alsace pizza) then she just can’t wait for it! Spouses, you can’t live with em/you can’t hardly live without em, eh. Brad

We always had sliced white onions available for our hamburgers, but never on sandwiches. Nor pizza as an ordered ingredient.  Now we use a lot in cooking, but rarely as raw.  Brad

Leftover SOS as the base, plus a can of tomato paste for some body. Ready-bake noodles, ricotta, and parmesan cheeses. Not too bad!
