Well.... I gave the old barrel a good work out.. Bolo'ed...key holed at 30 yards.. So...new barrel i cut it today.. N..now can hit a soda pop can at 80 yards.. :0) After that I really can not see a soda can... Eyes of me youth I do not have annamore... :0/
Remember that little 22 boys rifle.. the one that looks like a muzzel loader..?
Well it under went major surgery... Made a breech block for it for center fire cartridges.. N now it fires 6mm hornet ammo... :0) N it can convert back to the .22 ... :0)
Here is the oridganal 22 rimfire block n..the first block I made...
The first block came out real good..but.. On the last procedure of drilling the firing pin hole..the drill bit snapped off clean... bummer...
I tried all the tricks I knew to salvage it...but no soap... :0[
The good news is the second one came out much better.. As the first one was good pratice... N..like always there are improvements one thinks of along the way.. :0)
I am real pleased on how the chamber came out.. I came up with me own way to do it as there are no chamber reamer made for this round..well none that I know of..n..I have looked alot..
I think it will make a dandy little deer getter... :0)
Todays folly... Made the extractor work.. Installed primitive sigths.. went to the range..zeroed hit the gongs n ventilated an old propain tank now it is ready fer the scrap bin.. ;0)
Then figgered a way to mount a scope..without removing the iron sights.. :0)
