So I acquired a .270 barrel on the cheap..
Cut n threaded it to fit the reciver..
N then made up a new cartridge..
Used a 218 bee reamer.. made bushings to fit the .270 barrel..
Viola.. ah .270-bee...
Or a 270-20...if I were to have used a 32-20 case..n necked it down...
Also picked up an old ideal 105 lovern bullet mold..
Gas checked....
Antique gun..n antique mold..
The mold makes fantastic bullets...
Fun little project..!
Makin up loads fer it..now..
No sights on it yet..
But shootin off the round of the barrel is workin out real good..
I bought a reciver peep sight for it..
But as luck would have it..
It shoots to point of aim off the round of the barrel..
With one load I came up with using that cast bullet in the picture.. when fire forming the cases.. the round ball hit 6" high.. but on line as well..
Love these old drop blocks n rolling block actions..
But I really want a fallingblock..
A Steven's 44 1/2..or winchester high wall..or low wall..
But they are a lot of money...
I have a Ruger no.3..in 45-70..but that takes a lot of powder.. to reload..n..that adds up..
Same with the big center fire rounds too..
Right now.. a 30-30 win...is a big case to me..to fill..
N..I only shoot bout a hundirt yards here...
So..small is good.. :0)
Sooner or later I will halfto reload the primers too...
Fun hobby..

I remember reading an article by Ross Seyfried, in Guns and Ammo, about 30 years ago.
It was about some type of a very fine vintage German small bore rifle. It was designed to shoot a low velocity round at close targets.
That type of rifle had a name but I can not remember what it is. I tried a google search but still could not locate what it is.
Ross was elated to have located one since they were rare and treasured.
Anyhow, this project reminds me of that article and that rifle.
Maybe someone here knows the name of what I am describing .
There is an episode of "Perot" where a murder is accomplished by placing the barrel of a Rook Rifle in the victim's mouth while they were sleeping and the murderer firing a round into their head. The gun is so low powered that it left no sign of trauma on the corpse and the victim was assumed to have died of natural causes.
