He must have been a Leafs fan. Aristotle. Irving Aristotle from Mimico.
Habs - Leafs is a four game season. So far, 2 - 1 Habs. Best Leafs can do is a tie.
.... I guess this is what's meant by, "...the universe is unfolding as it should." ?!?!?!?

And the Winnipeg Sun's headline writer sure knows how to hurt (?) a guy:

End of an era.
He was always soft-spoken, unlike some others
I'll never forget that goal against Boston. The Toronto Star showed it in a big photo, looking over his shoulder. Symbolic of his career.
RIP Guy..
A cursory internet search hasn't been terribly informative. I've got it in my mind that "that goal" followed this* ...
My take has been that you-know-who was giving "it" to the crowd, but now on reflection maybe ^^ was for the referees??? Anyhoo, for me ^^ is as memorable as the goal itself. [IF I've got it wrong, I dunno whether or not I want to be corrected..... karma and all that rot ???]
I don't recall hearing of anything like this before: https://www.ginohard.com/alex-ovechkin-declines-penalty-vegas-pacioretty/?fbclid=IwAR2j6yRI6YfVkumXUn9F8bMLodLaNMjU-cQfMh0SFCpaEzgY1ifRJJnM8gY
'Way back when I was still trying to play a "friend" [i.e. Phys. Ed teacher who played/taught in the next town.... otherwise a good guy] chicken-winged me..... and then teased me for the balance of the school year about the hooking penalty I got. I guess there's no accoounting for some of the things that stick in our minds! ![]()

I remember a well-known “don’t call me a goon” chicken-winging (with EXTRA mustard) a highly skilled NJ Devil, knocked the poor guy into concussion land, then sobbing on TV that he’d been suspended from the playoffs.... yep, DC's kinda guy! No pinko, fancy pants college boys fer his team..

This is the type of chicken wing I had in mind: https://jedemi.com/news/chicken-winging-another-great-hockey-phrase%E2%80%A6/#:~:text=I%20just%20became%20aware%20of,in%20an%20inadvertent%20hooking%20penalty.
Edit: My friend/colleague had played for a fairly successful Wisconsin Badgers team.... so we weren't quite at the same level, skill-wise. ![]()

Some reflections…. Marcel Dionne vs. Guy Lafeur in the Junior playoffs -St. Catharines Blackhawks vs. Quebec Ramparts ,, Dionne portrayed as a traitor playing for an Ontario (anglais) team during the era of the FLQ
Guy as a guest on a Sirius XM hockey talk station with Denis Potvin who grew up in Ottawa near Guy’s hometown of Thurso, PQ…. Denis remembering the stink from the paper mill there & Guy remarking that his Dad would say “That’s the smell of my paycheque!”
Hearing rumours for years that Guy would puff on a cigarette on the bench between shifts
Something about the French culture and cigarettes - both Mike Bossy and Guy gone in the same week with lung cancer.
..... and for today's REALLY important "news": https://cultmtl.com/2022/04/toronto-maple-leafs-have-by-far-the-most-annoying-fanbase-in-the-nhl-poll/?fbclid=IwAR1ZsonKTg1H3SbcgmIkha2C4bwvS3OcQOuV4_mkru5HgSkiqW9czlI-WwM
.... and another [hopefully] interesting tidbit:
An interview with Chris Chelios on when Mike Babcock tried to healthy scratch him for an outdoor game, by Barstool Sports.
Chelios: He tried to healthy scratch me in the outdoor game in Wrigley Field against Chicago because he knew it was my hometown. Just things that were so unnecessary.
Whitney: When you say he tried to scratch you and what did you say? like no chance?
Chelios: Oh well trust me I will say….Kenny Holland and Jim Nill for three days argued with him. So what Babs ended up doing was he suited up 7 D for the first time ever, first and last time. He suited up 7 D, put Anders Lilja in the lineup. And played me opening shift and then didn’t play me another shift the rest of the game. That was his way of, you know, showing Kenny and now Jim Nill, he’s not going to be told what to do.
Again, and you know it’s funny. I’m sitting there. Second period and my two sons were about 40 feet, you know, sittin on the boards and they’re looking at me going, what’s going on?
And I look at them. I tip my glass like you know my cup, to get me a beer. So my two boys were handing me beers the whole game. And then McCrimmon tried to get me to go out there with a minute left to kill a penalty, I said not a chance.
