Never played with a mowfgard,,I quit hockey in 1974. Bum shoulder is why.
Missing chiclets kept happening, however, due to work accidents and poor lifestyle. So now I got store-bought painless teeth....

... I now see why I'm not gettin' an offers as a model!!   wink

I don't know what  you-know-who* would say, but I'm continually amused/bemused at how the magazines [eg. CARP/Zoomer] and magazine articles aimed as dudes my age [eg. arthritis "how-to" advice] mostly feature people considerably younger than me... with permanent ear-to-ear smiles**.

** = do you suppose it has anything to do with the legalization of recreational mary-jo-anna?   ...or maybe they're anticipating a job opening should Scott Russell retire?

It could be the Mary  Jo but I think it may be another advertising trick.

Kinda like making salad look so fun. https://www.google.com/search?rlz=1C1CHBF_enCA883CA883&q=women+laughing+while+eating+salad&tbm=isch&source=univ&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjDh8GHvZ3oAhWnFjQIHb_RAWwQsAR6BAgJEAE

FWIW, pea-and-bacon and 3-bean are a couple of my favorites.

What’s all that white stuff - fat? Might as well use a bowl of lard for dipping the peas in.
(Err,,Mrs. Lindsay would sternly correct, “ in which to dip the peas.”)

Speaking of choppers/teeth/chiclets, yooz guys might wanna check out these guys and their podcasts. Funny, rude, insightful. Today's is with fohmeh Brooins pen'lty killah Derek "Turk" Sanderson.  (DC's favourite "hot dog" player)

Apparently not Chuck.... I checked a few on-line recipes and it seems it's Mayonnaise.   For your benefit* I checked the label on our jar.   It's <24% fat and  15 ml. only provides 5% of of your "% Daily Value."   My math says that you need to consume about 1.25 cups of Mayo to meet your daily fat requirement* (?).    That would make a fair sized helping of pea-and-bacon salad.   And besides, you don't want to live forever, do you?   I think it best that I get my p&b salad here, lest it's not available wherever it is that I'm heading... kinda like we're urged to do by the namesake of one of our daughters: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0FlTjvQLgw

Geez, I saw her sing that song at the Festival Express. CNE Stadium, June 1970! Complete with story introduction about some young woman who was stealing all her "talent", 'cause she got up at nine a.m. while Janis didn't get up until noon.

Apparently the NHLPA has a plan for finishing this season:  https://www.hockeyinsiders.net/articles/breaking-player-proposed-plan-on-how-to-finish-nhl/?fbclid=IwAR0FNF43A8X0iY2b4HNMusWnMZ8nAThWbeWmSBdvsq5a36ohU6t5mjr9ssM

I'm assuming they figure COVID-19 will be under control by then.  FWIW, though I realize there's $$$ on the line, I give their plan a b-i-g  no  plus a b-i-g Bronx cheer.    Let sleeping dogs lie, and all that!!  Hockey in June is bad enuff ... particularly when the Habs aren't involved crying  .    Now... what do the [other] "experts" think?

Agreed. It's about greed.

Granted, it means needed employment/money for the forgotten ones who keep the arenas running and the fans fat and happy. But let's see the owners and players, who can afford it, chip in to help. And give us a break. The season's too long as it is. And the virus thing most likely won't be gone, anyway.

And the Habs won't have to worry about not making the playoffs. Again.

A thin thread of connection to the MD/DC saga. He might have played with or against Balfour in the minors & the Bruins had him for 5 games in ‘65. Anyhoo, he liked droppin’ da gloves like a gut Canadian kid, eh! Played on the Million Dollar Line with Hull and Hay. Died young from a lung tumour.

...another "Where's-Don-Cherry-when-you-need-him-moment?" this a.m.   CBC radio just had somebody or other [an M.D. I think] say that a paucity of Covid-19 testing was resulting in unreliable data.    And the good news: I knew what it meant without consulting the all-knowing Google.    yes

Well, since they wouldn’t take my advice and continue the season employing the 6’ / 2 m. distancing rule (there was a sniff of interest in Sweden, which DC harrumphed at), us puck fans need some news, stories, or whatever to stay grounded. Here’s an bit of “out there” stuff with the “Spittin’ Chiclets” boys and Cam (“I hate dirty Swedes”) Neely.

I thought hockey was an “essential service” in Montreal..... figured maybe they were playing scrimmages at the Forum at $20 a head.

I wonder if Julien is preparing for the scenario that owners and/or Bergevin will get some more horses.

I see in one of the links that Oilers fwd. Colby Cave [this is the first I'm hearing of him] is in an induced coma dealing with a "brain bleed."   I guess being "caught" with one's head down isn't the worst that can happen.

Someone should get some horses and haul Bergevin out of town.

Then get some more and haul Molson out of town. Then Julien ...

It’s probably what killed the Pocket Rocket....how the mighty have fallen....for decades now.

Cave was a call-up from Bakersfield,, saw the game where he scored his first NHL goal,,real nice one.  Hope he gets better soon.

Hockeydb.com https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=2606   says C.J. has a 46% winning %age as an NHL head coach [if I operated my calculator correctly]... probably a few wins shy of Hall of Fame credentials.

BUT he did win the Jack Adams trophy [voted on by the NHL Broadcasters Assoc.] in '08-'09 as the coach "judged to have contributed the most to his team's success."    Furthermore, our man D.C. won it in '75-'76.   cheeky

How to win coach of the year : Yell at former college players calling them chicken-livered pinkos, yell at defencemen to fire it off the glass and out, and yell at all centremen to dump it in and let 210 lb. wingers chase it.

...well, I suppose one has to contribute as best one can.    We hear all kinds of stuff about the importance of "role players."   Why not "role coaches?"  cheeky

P.S. Chuck, you left out some of D.C.'s most astute coaching: "Give the puck to Orr and stay out of his way."  yes
