^^^^^ Not season ticket sales,, I’m thinking revenue from greater interest and money from advertisers on TV, online game broadcasts. (which I actually know very little about how that’s broken down among teams). If something’s becoming more popular advertising money increases, I’m thinking.

This is true. I have no idea how the money splits from this tournament work, nor do I particularly care right now. What I do know is that this event brought a tremendous amount of attention to the game and the players put on one helluva show.
And I'm all for the league and the teams making more money. This is the main reason I never had a problem with the rotating ads on the boards during TV coverage - it's revenue. More revenue for the league, there's more money to pay the players. And top hockey players make a pittance compared to top NBA, NFL and MLB players - and I dare say they play a far more punishing sport.
I like what Subban said above,, I just don’t get his thing in this torontosun.com/sports/hockey/n...ut-subban
what's a "trizzy train"?

…and to add to the intrigue, Gretzky , DT’s pal, bought hats for the Canadian players,,, hmmm, , they resemble some other hat. Ridiculous,, methinks Walter (Wayne’s Dad, of Russian descent) is turning over in his grave.

Do you recall, in one of the Heritage series games (which featured an old timers game and an NHL game), that the Canadiens goalie wore a Canadiens toque over his mask/helmet, while Gretzky had the Oilers outfitted in Ford (that's the car company) toques. Classy.
I've been able to find things to do to avoid a good bit of the "analysis" (?) of 4-nations. Alas, just this morning I learned that even Bobby Orr is in on it ... apparently defending Gretzky's actions. L-o-t-s of comments "disagreeing" with Orr's stance, but one in particular [on Redditt] caught my attention:
"Guys, if you're good at a sport, you shouldn't face criticism for your actions decades later."
Sounds like Bobby took a few too many hits to the head.
Edit: And I think I came across something saying that DC/MD [remember... the guy in the thread title] concurred with Orr.

Michkov is a beautiful player to watch.
I've posted it before, but my favourite "dipsy-doodle" comes courtesy of Mark Howe .... and it's good enough to warrant repeating:
”We had a guy here in Philly named Miroslav Dvorak, from Czechoslovakia and he was a pretty funny guy. We had a game at the old Spectrum, he got the puck behind the net. He came out in front and I don’t know what he was doing, but he lost it. The other team got it and they almost scored. He came to the bench, coach Bob McCammon is screaming and yelling at him pretty good, which is understandable. His nickname was Cookie. He said, ’Cookie, what are you doing?’ And he looks at the coach and says, ’Dipsy-doodle good for fans.’ He came out with that line, everybody on the bench was laughing.”
From Chico Resch >> Tales From The Devils Ice >> Hockey Beast >> my Facebook >> BHO:
While playing for the New Jersey Devils, Chico Resch once got pulled over by a cop:
”’Hey buddy,’ the officer said, his voice as gruff as that of the toughest NHL forwards. ’What are you doing?´
’I’m trying to find this church,’ I said. ’Did I do something wrong?’
’You went through a red light.’
I started groveling. I told him I’d just moved to Jersey, didn’t know a whole lot of people. At that point, I began bracing for the ticket.
And then he recognized me. ’Don’t I know you?’ he asked.
’I don’t know. Who do you think I am?’
’ Don't you play hockey?’
’Yup,’ I said.
’You’re a goalie, right?’
’Yup.’
’Chico Resch? Goalie for the New Jersey Devils?’
’Yup. That’s me.’
’I’ve seen you play goal. And you, more than anybody else, knows what a red light looks like.’
Turns out he was a New York Rangers fan. At least he let me off without a ticket”
