This is a recording from July 2013 of the old folk tune "Froggie Went A-Courtin' by Adam Hill (guitar and vocals) and Chris Gainey (banjo). This performance begins as a more-or-less straightforward interpretation of the tune. This is followed in subsequent verses, however, by a few tweaks of the harmonic progression to include a number of interpolated chords not normally used in support of this familiar and simple tune. This is an instrumental recording of the traditional tune "I'll Fly Away" made by Chris Gainey (banjo) and Adam Hill (guitar) in July 2013. I have chosen "other" as the most appropriate playing style label for this performance because I switch between clawhammer and a four-finger tremolo style that I have adapted from my experience as a classical guitarist. Enjoy!
