have played guitar, bass, and now starting banjo......Epiphone MB250, also a 1996Fender MIM Strat, 1964 Gibson F25, and a 2012 Epiphone DR100.
Favorite Bands/Musicians:
Steve Martin, Earl Scruggs and the Earl Scruggs Revue (I love these guys), I just bought a CD by Randy Scruggs - terrific! Just got a CD by Bela Fleck....interesting. Just heard the White Top Mountaineers at a concert....classic clawhammer, great twosome! Went to Steve M's concert in C'ville..he was terrific! 11/20/12 picked up a new CD (new to me) "will the circle b unbroken" and was floored by Doc Watson's guitar playing...went out and bought an Ep. accustic (cheap, but sounds great). Heard the Roys at some fundraiser here in town. They have a great banjo player named Dan Patrick who is really great, easy to follow. Get their last cd and check it out!
Went out to eat w/ family near Afton Mountain...heard Jimmy Stelling and his group.

as a teen, played in a RnR band, played with the "Escorts" here in Richmond just before college, played with a great group in college in the Raleigh, NC area. Finally convinced I had zero talent, quit playing, picked bass up again for church bands...had a revelation that there were no banjo players in heaven, so I picked that up just back in Dec. 2011.....then Earl died.
