Started playing electric bass in high school for a garage punk band. Picked up guitar and drums a bit along the way. Bought a cheap banjo my senior year in high school. Never did much with it until after college. After graduation I moved to Knoxville for work and after about 9 months of pure boredom I started taking lessons from Ed Wing at Pick N' Grin. Bought a new banjo about 2 months later and never looked back. I used to frequent jams in Rocky Branch and Maryville, but my work has recently taken over my life. I pick in small band with Cecil Thomas and his wife Pam.
