Good News! My Kickstarter account ( http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/gracevanthof/grace-vant-hofs-solo-record ) hit the halfway point today! Only 22 days to go (it ends on my birthday) But I'm confident that I can pull this out of the bag! I feel so supported and blessed by those who pledged for the project so far.
I also had my first production meeting with Laura Cortese today. It went really well! I'm lucky to have her guidance and creative spirit on this project. I would be lost without her. Narrowing down the material now. It's getting real! Yipes!

Born and raised in Western Michigan, Grace Van't Hof studied classical violin and piano at a young age until she discovered the banjo in high school when she built a 5-string prototype that won 2nd place in a statewide Science Olympiad. Inspired by artists from the Louvin Brothers to Puccini, Grace's musical career has taken her throughout the United States and Europe. She has performed in venues fromt he Merlefest Midnight Jam and the Grey Fox Mainstage, to the International Folkdance Festival in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. In addition to visiting scores of fabulous locales, Grace has had the opportunity to share the stage with an impressive array of artists including Bela Fleck, Abigail Washburn, the Steep Canyon Rangers, Tony Trischka, Chris Thile and the Punch Brothers, the Dixie Beeliners, Della Mae, and many more. Before relocating from North Carolina to Massachusetts, Grace studied in the Bluegrass, Old Time, and Country Music Program at East Tennessee State University after receiving multiple scholarships based on banjo performance. She studied Voice and Studio Art at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI, and at the University of North Carolina, Asheville. Apart from her bluegrass career, Grace also works as a graphic designer and illustrator. She now makes her home in Arlington, MA
