Play your banjo with the ease of a tunneled 5th string neck.

Friday, August 21, 2009

After being spoiled by my new banjo with a full-length 5th string, I wanted my old banjo to play like it had a tunneled 5th string.

I needed a tailpiece that was rigid enough to support a mini guitar tuner. I ended up designing my own that features a Solid Mount supported 100% by the bracket hooks.

You can Adjust Tension on each individual string. The Adjustment Screws do not protrude but are easily reached with an allen wrench. The same allen wrench fits all the screws.

The Tailpiece can be used as a standard tailpiece or the Tuner Module can be quickly added.

The Tuner Module is locked to the Tailpiece at 3 points of contact.
The Tuner Module and the mini guitar tuner fit nicely in your banjo case.

The String Anchor replaces the 5th string tuner on the banjo neck and positions the string at the same height as a standard 5th string tuner.
The String Anchor allows you to wrap the loop end of the string around the Anchor so that the windings do not touch the fingerboard.

You can Return your banjo to its original setup at any time.

All parts are Machined out of Solid Stock. Not stamped or cast.
The Axle and screws are stainless steel.
All parts are Polished, Buffed, Nickel Plated and Rebuffed by a company that has plated musical instrument parts since 1939.

Please see the photos section of my homepage under "Tailpiece and Tailpiece Tuner" for a look at my tailpiece mounted on my banjos.

Thanks for looking,

Mike
