I grew up in Northern VA and Western NC (Sawmills, if you know where that is). I started with the Guitar a few years back. My mother-in-law loaned me one of hers and told me I had 3 months to learn it. I know enough to get by. I have always wanted to play the Banjo, since I was a kid. So I finely was able to go out and find one for fathers days. (Hey, it was for me, so I went out to find it). Anyway I have been picking away when ever I can. Though I'll take longer that 3 months at my current pace and work schedule. Anything else just ask. Enjoy.
