I am looking for the guy that I sold a goodtime to back in the summer. The banjo was missing a hook and nut when I shipped it and I informed the customer that I would send the parts to him when I got new ones. The rub comes when my laptop crashed before I was able to ship. This crash was catastrophic so I have not been able to come up with the name or the address If anyone happens to know this person please contact me here. I really want him to have his parts ,and they are in my desk until I get back in touch. I wish that I had a name ,but I talk to so many of you I have forgotten it. It may have been Michael.

I am new to the world of banjos. Having grown up in the piedmont of North Carolina I was fortunate enough to have lots of banjo music around me as a child. Unfortunately we seldom appreciate what we grow up with. I have since learned to appreciate the music that I grew up around. Last March I picked up a banjo that my youngest brother had laying in a corner. My mother had given it to him since he was the one that seemed to have he most musical talent, and was already adept a bluegrass guitar. I decided that this would be my instrument of choice and started playing everyday. Since then I have acquired four more banjos and decided that I needed an instructor. Let me suggest Jeff Whittington to anyone out there that wants to learn bluegrass banjo in the western piedmont of NC. I also have a bent toward tinkering to go along with my formal training as a machine designer and mechanical engineer. I am currently working on a top tension resonator banjo design that will allow limitless set up choices coupled with a full length fifth string neck. I never could leave anything alone when I started messing with it. I will post picture as I work on this and maybe I will actually build a banjo that plays good, and if not I will build one that I like.
