I'm with raybob. It's seasonal.
Scottish beers are generally poor, really bad, but McEwan's No. 1 is satisfying.
If I were back in England, I'd have a long list.
But I'm not, so it's cheap whisky tonight.

We have a "local" brewery here by the name of Leinenkugel's....since 1867. My grandfather worked there 50 years. The beer has a great reputation but, alas, we can no longer call it a locally owned brewery, as it is now owned by South African Breweries, which also, owns Millers, Coors and others. My favorite beer, is an N.A. beer, Clausthaler. Smooth as the fuzz on the royal derriere, (recently exposed in Calgary, Alberta, Canada)

I once (twice?) drank enough beer to make the girl next to me LOOK like a Duchess. I've never ended up looking like a Duke, though. They don't make that much beer.

Guinness is my favorite.
We also have some Micro breweries here in Denmark that turn out some excellent stuff. Also a Belgian beer called Saint Feullien is among my favorites and their "christemas version" is just amazing, and strong.

Schlafly Kolsch and Pale Ale from St. Louis top my list, along with Bully Porter from Boulevard in Kansas City. Many micro brews have sprung up around St. Louis, all are good to check out. Crow Valley Brewery in St. Genevieve hosts a home brew contest a few times each year. I've tried at least seventy-five beers, not a bad one yet.

You guys have got to be from New England... Tuckerman's and Long Trail beers are great. My favorite brew by far is "Pig's Ear Brown Ear" from Woodstock Inn Brewery. It's in New Hampshire and I make a point to make a stop there anytime I'm anywhere close.

I definitely have a soft spot for Anchor Porter.
I like a lot of Czech pilsners.
Our local brewery, Blackfoot River Brewing, makes a lot of great beers. They only keg and sometimes do some special bottles, so it mostly stays in Montana. I don't think they have any plans to really bottle their beer. They want to keep it small and good. blackfootriverbrewing.com/home/

I'm no longer qualified to comment much on beer as I seldom drink anything alcoholic anymore - but, back in the day, my favorite drink was a "Black and Tan" made from a 50/50 mix of Guinness Stout and Harp Lager dispensed from the taps at the local pub. I drank a whole lot of those!

Meebe Area Code 615 could start a brewery (copying Guinness), without giving Guiness any credit?

Haven't tried any yet. I'm afraid it might live up to it's name!
