Her name is Misty, Black lab mix, she loks bad right now but the vet thinks she will be ok, he gave her a steriod shot plus 14 days of antiibiotics, some people are just mean.

JEA13 - Posted - 02/01/2011:  15:52:18

Oh No. That's horrible. Who could even think of doing something so nasty. I hope she has a speedy and full recovery.

mike gregory - Posted - 02/01/2011:  15:53:46

If I get near whoever it was, I will want to bite them!!

Yeah, they are, and it's truly sad. I hope for the best for Misty's recovery.

thumpic2003 - Posted - 02/01/2011:  16:02:59

I have the best of neighbors plus i have a underground fence, she stays in our yard, i don't understand this.

dflowers - Posted - 02/01/2011:  16:27:52

I would hate to be that guy when you catch him/or her. I won't even go into what I would do if someone did that to one of my dogs.

JSnood - Posted - 02/01/2011:  16:28:38

That is really awful. I too hope she will be fine very soon.

Something tells me Misty will show who the culprit is.

GRRrrrr . . .

Setting aside (temporarily) thoughts of revenge, I wish the best for Misty. Is she in good spirits?

rickshunter1 - Posted - 02/01/2011:  16:43:40

Anyone who could do that to a animal deserves to be on the recieving end of a baseball bat

alfiedog - Posted - 02/01/2011:  16:52:21

Thats a bit Tame Rick. I WOULD PUT EM THROUGH A GIANT MINCER. How Horrible is that. These things really wind me up. Last Week in our local Rag there was an Article about a Cat that had been set on Fire, and Kicked to Death. "What is going on"

Prof - Posted - 02/01/2011:  16:59:19

Oh no -- sorry to hear of that! Hope she feels better soon!

Lachlan - Posted - 02/01/2011:  17:03:25

How are her eyes? Any damage to her nose? Dogs are pretty tough, and they respect a pack leader who will care for them. Free beer to you for a week.

Voyageur - Posted - 02/01/2011:  17:13:28

Ted, I am really sorry and hope Misty makes a good recovery.

There are some sick and evil people out there. It is painful to contemplate.

Pig_Eyed_Jackson - Posted - 02/01/2011:  17:18:51

thumpic2003, did you upset anyone in the past few months? Sometimes someone will get revenge through the dog. Whom ever did this seems to have picked out your dog.

I hope your dog heals well.

MarkRough - Posted - 02/01/2011:  17:39:31

Hope Misty heals up quickly and painlessly!

In the mean time, if you find out who it was, let me know. I'm related to. . . er. . . I mean, I'm slightly acquainted with a bunch dog-loving-retired-biker-grannies-with-hardwood-canes that would like to talk to him or her. They're kind of like a baseball bat/meat grinder combination.

Banjo MD - Posted - 02/01/2011:  17:39:35

Did you report it to the authorities?
People who mistreat animals are potentially traveling down the wrong road!

1four5 - Posted - 02/01/2011:  17:51:29

I'm hoping for a full recovery for Misty. There is a special place in hell for people who mistreat animals. My parents taught me that animals report directly to God, and no one gets away with it.

Ditto to what Dean said.

There is a reason why psychiatrists see animal abuse in the case histories of many serial killers.

Get well, Misty. I'm going to go hug my own dog right now.

today your dog tomorrow a child. Abusing animals has been link to serial killing as stated above.

GarlicBreath - Posted - 02/01/2011:  20:01:16

It's got to be:

A neighbor
Someone who walks by regularly, maybe been barked at by your dog?
Someone you know, work or something, with an agenda.
Mean evil spirit that tipped paint thinner, lye, something on her after she nudged it with her nose.

I hope they get caught!

thumpic2003 - Posted - 02/01/2011:  20:03:33

Thanks everybody for your concern, Shes eating good and still wants to play, this just gets to me, sorry.

pstroud1 - Posted - 02/01/2011:  20:21:36

That was a damn down right cruel thing to do.
Hope they are caught.

I also hope Misty heals fast.

Best hugs to Misty - please deliver them for me!

As for you, thumpic, remember: Time wounds all heels. Or, in other words, what goes around, comes around. Karma will attend to the dirtball who did this to your dog.

Micki - Posted - 02/01/2011:  21:15:42

Sorry to hear someone did this evil deed to an animal. Hope she makes a complete and speedy recovery. I wonder sometimes how people have a real heart to do these things. I hope they will be punished for it. Micki

pandjlocke - Posted - 02/01/2011:  22:44:37

Get a rope.

And best wishes to Misty.

Theirs so much low life scum walking the earth these days,....hope Misty makes a full recovery.

Grumps - Posted - 02/02/2011:  03:10:39

Shocking! hoping the poor dog makes a happy recovery.

Newl Post - Posted - 02/02/2011:  04:18:16

First, I hope your dog recovers quick & well.

There's a song - Who Throw'd Lye On My Dog - written from the perspective of an angry pet owner.

It's a scary situation. This has got to be someone with serious pathalogical problems. Keep an eye out for it happening elsewhere in your community.

Paul R - Posted - 02/02/2011:  04:34:14

Couldn't believe your headline, but there you have it. This is awful - almost incomprehensible. I trust this has been reported. Is it the only incident in your area?

Here's hoping for a full recovery. Give Misty a pat for me.

Nymphadora - Posted - 02/02/2011:  06:40:23

Sadness.... I really don't know what else to say. I hope Misty is not suffering right now. As "1four5" stated above, animals report straight to God. If her attacker is caught will you please let us know? My thoughts and prayers to Misty and her human family. Hugs....

wb4yal - Posted - 02/02/2011:  06:58:27

I hope she mends soon. Hug her for me too! This sicko is cursed for sure!

steve j. - Posted - 02/02/2011:  07:08:44

I hope she gets better quick. I cant imagine how I would feel if this happened to my four legged son Red. My thought toward dealing w/ that person ,{I know you cant or you would go down for it},,,, but I think they should be shot.
How someone can do that is beyond me.

vintagewells - Posted - 02/02/2011:  07:23:45

On another site for dogs, one of our member's beloved dog was shot and killed by kids with a pellet gun. The dog was a smaller breed and in a completely fenced yard.
Several years ago, signs put up in our neighborhood warned everyone about someone who was poisoning pets. You might want to put up some signs, keeps everyone aware and on the lookout for the miscreants.
Give Misty a hug from me and a nice bone to chew on.

Crazy Evil and Sad......

Friends in Mt.Vernon IL found their black cat, Jack, mutilated. It was suspected a malicious neighbor with a grudge severed both his rear legs and left him to die. Jack survived and got around very well walking on his front legs balancing like a circus performer.

JohnB. - Posted - 02/02/2011:  08:10:11

Sorry to hear about you dog. Hope Misty has a speedy recovery. Some people are just pure scumbags, here in Maryland a couple of teens from the city doused a cat in gas and lit her on fire. They said the cat will survive but her ears will fall off because they were burnt so bad. Hope they catch who did this to your dog and punish them to the fullest extent of the law.

Sending best wishes for Misty.....As a dog owner, myself, I agree with 1for5 and also believe that animals report directly to God. I am at a loss for words--just seems there are a lot of douche bags (sorry) out there that get off on hurting people's pets, and I know there is a special place reserved in the afterlife for them.....

<<sending Misty gentle pats and hugs>>

sorry to hear about your dog, i had a black lab, great dogs! dont worry, they will get theirs, the only down side is, you wont see it.

dawgdoc - Posted - 02/02/2011:  08:31:38

Our thoughts are with you and the dog. For your sake I do hope you don't catch the idiots that did it, because I'm not sure how I'd react. Give her a big hug from our kennel.

dat - Posted - 02/02/2011:  08:34:20

sure hope she gets better soon

thumpic2003 - Posted - 02/02/2011:  09:45:52

I've put a couple pictures on my profile, be glad when she gets well, thanks everybody

ambpicker - Posted - 02/02/2011:  10:22:53

Did you or the vet file a police report? Probably won't do any good, but if the authorities received similar reports, it might help to catch whoever did this.
I'd hate to be the one caught who did this, I would imagine the time in jail could get rough. I hope so.

dat - Posted - 02/02/2011:  10:24:31

I would like to find out who it was and have an old fashon "talk" with them

Penel - Posted - 02/02/2011:  11:43:59

You say you don't think you have a problem with your neighbors and your dog would never step over the underground fence,
I don't suppose you have a "tagging" problem where you live and your dog caught someone trying to tag something on your property and got tagged instead?

Taggers here in Chicago apparently have found spray paint not permanent enough for their vandalism and have taken to tagging windows and vehicles with acid.
