Thank you.
Friday night curry - Chicken Karahi made with lots of fresh tomatoes to make the gravy. When I was looking for a recipe, I saw someone serve a Karahi with a meat based pilau rice called a Yakhni - I’d never heard of it but it was rice cooked in lamb broth with pieces of meat run through it, I made a cheat broth with some lamb from the freezer - man it was good… I could eat a bowl of the rice on its own.

We took a weekend retreat to Kansas City, so no cooking. Still we did some good eating, along with some ok meals. Chiefs flags flying high everywhere, even along Ward Parkway-where the historic mansions fill the area with 2-30 million dollar homes I am guessing-maybe more?.
We did visit a favorite French Market and Cafe. We loaded up on cheeses, butter, etc. and a 2-qt jar of fresh made traditional cassoulet- "Bean Dish of the Gods" (ham and beans) Around here its called ham and beans. ;-)

Whoah! Cookers/Eater's Block! A serious double illness. You gotta see an shrink. Or drive to Al's place and stay for a while. Both of them can cure what ails ya, me thinks.
Evening teaser. Guess what we are eating for dinner? Courtesy of the French Market by their long serving restaurant, Cafe Provence. While the kids have taken over, the original owners came to Kansas City from Eastern France back in the 1970s and and opened an incredible French restaurant . Brad
