Tonight was Hors d’oeurves and adult beverages!!! Italian meatballs, Asian wings, Bagna Cauda, Swiss cheese fondue, spinach dip, veggie assortment !!! Dessert is Mrs. Slammers peppermint cheesecake!!! Maybe a shot or two of Skrewball whiskey on the rocks before bed………..just to settle the tummy !!!

Just now as much? Seems like a lot food and choices. BTW, I wish both of you a speedy and full recovery. seems most folks I know are running through the 3 grunges going around. Brad
Thanks Brad!!! Yes, there is a LOT of grunge going around and none of it is fun. I’m pretty fortunate, other than injuries, I have not been I sick in a long time!!!
BTW, it was a lot of food and choices, and the leftovers are just as good. Took me over 30 years to acquire a taste for Bagna Cauda, but I’m enjoying the leftovers of it more than anything. It is my wife’s Family Christmas tradition!!!

We had a prime rib waaaay too big for the 2 of us Christmas day. We had another meal & had beef vegetable soup with rottini noodles last night. Not a giant pot that we usually get stuck with. I must say it was really good! Almost the best part of the roast!
Today we're making a stock with the leftover bones & meat to Vacuum seal into packages for future soups & stews.
Happy New Year to Me !!!
New Year’s Eve meal for Mrs. Slammer and myself was………..
Beautiful 14 oz. lobster tails, gigantic fresh water prawns, warm salted butter dish, garlic and herb Hassleback potatoes, garden greens and pineapple salad , and of coarse a few adult beverages !!! Having a little Skrewball on the rocks right now for an after dinner digestive aid !!! Wink Wink. Now come to find out Mrs. Slammer bought some good butter pecan ice cream (my favorite) and made a small batch of her Grandmas homemade hot fudge sauce to drizzle over top !!! Thanks Gam Gam !!!
Slammer!!!
Happy New Year!
Ham Steaks, Sweet Potato Casserole, Asian Chopped Salad, Stuffed Mushrooms, Amaretto Ice Cream w/ bits of Michigan Cherries & a drizzle of Hot Fudge.
The ice cream was better than it sounds, but might be better with salty pretzels crushed and sprinkled on top.
Hmm. I think I'll go try that now.
Liz here: chief Cook and bottle washer for the aforementioned dinner. I did a prime rib, seasoned with Bull $h!+, salt, pepper, and butter and seared before being roasted. I cut off a chunk of the fat earlier in the day and rendered it down to grease the muffin cups for Yorkshire pudding. Mashed garlic potatoes and roasted asparagus. Gravy made from the beef drippings, red wine, and demi glace from a jar. My sister brought Mushrooms Berkeley, and Al's sister did a charcuterie plate as an appetizer. For dessert, we had a plum pudding that I made over a year ago and never served as we all got sick last year. Today I steamed it again and doused it with brandy before setting it alight. Brandy butter and whipped cream on the top.
