Last night we had pasta salad and a skewer of grilled shrimp.  This salad was labeled as a pickle lovers pasta salad.  Vinegerette infused shallot slices, mixture of Duke's and sour cream,  pickle brine, load of chopped dill pickles,  fresh dill, celery, shredded havarti etc.  I believe a Southern Living recipe, "Dill Pickle Pasta Salad".  I put it all together early enough to meld and chill a while.
Marilyn said it was the best pasta salad she had ever eaten.  Yes, no bigger pickle lover than my wife!  Brad

The orecchiette is a great choice for pasta salads and often overlooked or just not available in all stores. Gonna have to look up that recipe!!! It’s almost cold salad season here, although it’s 38 degrees here this morning and hot soup sounds good!!!

I wish I could spell that pasta variety. Btw, that Sauvignon Blanc, a dryer SB than many, paired well. Brad

Cheeseburgers seasoned with Hot Dirty Bird and grilled over charcoal. Sauteed mushrooms and onions. All the condiments. Canned buns, flattened out to make them wider and then split and grilled. Not a bad substitute for regular buns!

We can’t find a good hamburger bun in our county to save my soul. I’m so disgusted with them and when making a great smash burger, or any burger for that matter , the bun is a huge integral part. I’m on a few smash burger forums and gonna start making my own!!! There are a couple people I follow and their homemade buns look fantastic. It’s time!!!

I could not agree more on the "quality" of burger buns.  Loaded with preservatives, too mushy, too big or or fat, too pasty, etc.  I have gone to toasting buns on the grill to get them to hold up to the meat and condiments.  I don't want pretzel buns or brioche buns, etc.  I am tempted to make my own.  Someday...Brad

Fired up the Wok last night and may just have a new “favorite”
Didn’t feel like going to the store so made due with what we had.
Mongolian Beef (venison) cabbage onions, carrots, garlic. Little soy sauce, fish sauce, rice wine vinegar and a little brown sugar, red pepper Flakes.
Damn!!! Fried or stir fried cabbage is sooooo underrated!!!

That's the link to the recipe. It's basically a one-pot mac and cheese with chicken, peppers, onions, and garlic. The pasta is cooked in the same pot as all the other ingredients. Pretty not too bad!

Layered taco salad: tortilla chips, taco meat, cheese, corn and black beans, tomatoes, red onion, peppers, salsa, sour cream, and finally, lettuce. No guacamole as Al doesn't like it, but I have some for myself.

I must be getting the wrong kind of chicken. Every time I saute chicken the pan fills with water. Same with ground meat. It's frustrating.

Never thought of doing that. I'll crank up the heat next time. Thanks.

Jeff:
Also try combining the oil with the meat instead of putting it in the pan. And use less!

We enjoyed a nice Sunday evening in June dinner. Grilled chicken thighs, grilled corn, cucumber salad, and tabouli/from thinning out our parsley already. Brad
