A fave of mine for sure,  We ate it a lot in Saarland.   I have made schweinshaxe a number of times at home, using various methods, but still have not "nailed" it.  Gotten close though.   brad

Been busy and no time to post, but the last few nights were some good eats!!!
While Mrs. Slammer was gone , I had to make my usual bachelor meal of
$hit on a shingle which is my goto. The other night we had venison tostadas.
Last night was farmers market night with BLTO’s and fresh local sweet corn.
Time to make some freezer corn today.

I have not eaten S on a S in decades.  That said, I am proud to admit I have eaten my share of gut bombs.

Curiosity was killin the cat and I’ve been seeing this recipe that is going viral on the internet. Caramalized Onion Pasta. I looked at a bunch of similar recipes and then made my own version including sweet Italian sausage .
Once the onions are caramelized, this is a quick recipe and did NOT disappoint.
I caramalized 3 large onions and a bunch of garlic. When done I added 1/2 of small can tomato paste, small can of crushed tomatoes, cup of 1/2&1/2, 1lb of Italian sausage, salt, little sugar, black pepper, chili flakes. Poured over bucatini and mixed. Damn good!!!
Most recipes add cheese, I didn’t need it and just added a little parm.

I really like the sound of that!

Toad in the hole. Sausages cooked in Yorkshire Pudding batter - proper comfort food as requested by my son.

Sunday night special!!! To my surprise ( I hate to change what works) but I tried a new sauce recipe and a new cheese blend. Man am I glad I did. Best Sunday night pizza in a long time and this will be my new goto…….for now!!!

Some kinda chickin egg noodle thing..it was good tho..

Chicken Quasi-Cacciatore with leftover chicken breast, onions, and roasted cherry tomatoes (from the garden) and garlic. Egg noodles. I roasted the garlic and tomatoes on parchment paper with a drizzle of olive oil and a little salt.

Jalapeño poppers .. cucumbers..n Spanish rice..
