No. 15 is Bobby Hull, playing for St. Catharines Collegiate when he was with the aforementioned (!) TeePees. The story goes that he practiced with the TeePees in the morning, played a football game that afternoon (scoring 2 touchdowns), and played with the Chicago Blackhawk team in an exhibition game that evening and scored twice.
The big club smuggled him out of the city that night and he stayed with Chicago,,,,,, until Winnipeg's Hatskin got a million $$ together to lure him to the WHA Jets.

One of the things I liked best about the WHA was how it fostered [allowed??] some "characters" to show their character.... and provided some interesting growing pains to boot.

You mean this Asper?

 The World Hockey Association)

Ooops.... good thing I double-checked before it hit "post."   wink

Edit: Here's a link to one writer's take on things.  https://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/blackhawks/ct-flashback-bobby-hull-blackhawks-spt-0719-20150718-story.html

Fwiw, at one game word spread around the rink that a Jets scout was in the building. [Relax, he wasn't interested in yours truly.]  However, the story goes that he did see  a player from our opponents for the nite, the Pine Falls Paper Kings that interested him.......... until he asked somebody how old the player was.  He lost interest pretty quickly when he go the answer.... 40 or 41.  Also, fwiw, the PFPKs were the only team in the league that beat us every ^%$#*^% game we played 'em in the three-years I was in Lac du Bonnet. sad

As a parallel Teepees fans were distraught when the ChiHawks took the 18 year- old Hull out of Junior. That left Stanislaus Mikita and Chico Maki to carry the mail.
btw, girls were always all over the guy,,, he sired a child out of wedlock when in St. Catharines,,, I heard he paid the bills for the Mom for years after. Back in those days it was mum’s the word,, even Rex Stimers refrained from the old “wink, wink,, nudge, nudge”.

Back when I was still trying to play, I liked it when the [opposing] defence would make the break-out  pass into the winger's feet up at the blueline on the far side of the ice..... it gave an opportunity for a lumbering defenseman to come across the ice along the blue line and try ^^.   Alas, when the puck sailed past the winger the now out-of-position lumbering defenseman gave up the odd odd-man rush, or two.... although diligent back-checking would have solved that, at least once in a  while.  [Fwiw, I think diligent back-checking solves a lot of things on the ice.]

I ain't revelling in any of it. This sad sack team is the one MB built - and dismantled. Perry scores on his former teammates. Should have kept him. Danault - should have kept him. Except for the '92-'93 team that Serge Savard built, they've been pretty much mismanaged since '80. But MB was the cherry on top.

And Molson is too cowardly - or/and stupid - to let anyone but a Francophone to coach the team. Eff the French media, build a winner. Doubt that will happen, though.

Chuck, the pic of Vasko prompted me to go look thru my Beehives.... about 70 in all, and only about 2/3 of them *&%^$# by my gluing them to cardboard and punching holes better organize (?) 'em.... the rest are in pretty good shape.

You might be able to pick out the three former TPs .... the fourth is of Togo's other famous hockey player [thought I might as well fill up the space.

P.S. Iffin your having trouble figuring out who's who, look really hard, you'll see the names on the pics.  cheeky

Yep, we didn’t have too many BeeHive cards, but we had most of the Shiriff hockey coins. They came with their instant pudding and jello packets. We had Ma stock up for 5 years worth.
Ted won that trophy on a team with THAT name?…lol. “The WHA awarded him the Paul Deneau Trophy (Most Gentlemanly Player) in 1973 as a member of the Minnesota Fighting Saints.” I guess Ted was a non-fighting Saint.

Interesting tidbit via Facebook today:

"That same year (1979), after the regular season, we played together in the WHA All-Star game against the Moscow Dynamo. There was this one Soviet who wouldn’t stop hooking and chopping at me.

I didn’t know what to do about it, so Gordie said, ”The next time down the ice, when you see him coming, flush him off to the right and get the hell out the way.”

So that’s what I did and when I looked back, the Soviet was laying flat on his butt, half out of it. Whatever Gordie did, I’m glad I didn’t have to watch it.”

- Wayne Gretzky.

....and yet another tid-bit via Facebook [apparently it was newsworthy in 2014] ..... makes me wonder whether Semenko got a copy of the scoresheet when one deflected in off the seat of his pants [or a "redirect" for those up on the jargon]:

May be an image of 2 people, people standing and text that says 'BD Georges Laraque @GeorgesLaraque It was an honour today to meet one of the best NHL goalies of all time, new member of the Hall of Fame: Dominik "The Dominator" Hasek! also got him to sign the score sheet when scored goals against him in Buffalo on march 9, 2001. This is priceless for me!'

When I was a kid we belonged to a very poor parish. In fact, it was so poor, we couldn't afford an organ. We could only afford an accordion. That was our parish, Our Lady of Spain.

Chuck, I've been trying to pay a bit closer attention (?) to player interviews lately..... but in the few I've seen/heard so far I've yet to hear a player use "obviously" in an interview!?!?!!?    I could bring it up when I next shoot the breeze with Gary, but I figure he might question what I've been smokin'.    [But, hold the phone, just now I hear Cassie Campbell say "Obviously he's read the book," though I don't know what/who she was referring to.]

Did you happen to see Kyle Connor's nifty (!?!?!?) OT goal this aft?  ....Shot it about 2 feet wide, on the far side,  and Brossoit "redirected" it in with the inside of his blocker.      I think DC/MD could give some interesting (?) commentary on it, but alas.......... .
