Nice post. Haven't seen you on the BHO for awhile. Don't you play in a band in Tashkent?  How's that going?

anetc99  I will try to play it, but only if I'll learn them all! :)

winnipegbanjoman I'm sorry, but I don't singing and playing there anymore. We must working for to get some money, because we'll never can't get it by playing rock music in our country... May be we will meet again someday and will play anything, but I don't know when...So, now I'm playing banjo alone!

The first part sounds a lot like "Buffalo Gals Won't You Come Out Tonight". Great job. I enjoyed it.

wbalsam1, I think it's because like a joke:

Q: How can you tell the difference between all the banjo songs?
A: By their names :)))

Nice piece of music.  I like the harmonics.

Well done Janna!

That started out as a minstrel show tune, "Buffalo Gals"  -- published in 1844.

Do you know the Tanbur,  the Barbat, and the Tar (Dutar)? They are played in Uzbekistan.

They are ancestors of the Banjo. The earliest tanbur had a skin head. (3000 to 4000 years ago...in Mesopotamia and Persia.)

The Tanbur evolved, and traveled to Central Asia, Egypt, and to West Africa.  The Slaves from West Africa brought  their skin-headed instruments to the Caribbean, and America.  Those slave instruments evolved into the modern banjo.
