One of these days I am going to be able to change my experience level to something higher than "novice" I have recently begun lessons... although my teacher's background is mainly composition/guitarist, he does play banjo and is teaching me to sight read standard musical notation and is delving deeper into music theory and how it all comes together. Someday I will actually know what I am doing and why I am doing it... it will take time but ifeel it will come.
I just thought that I would update my blog in the event that some of you out there were becoming bored with the other "Cute" one that I had on display for lo these many months... Wow, somebody immortalizes you in song and you start telling people what to do... you know who you are.

Retired Naval Officer, 26 years in the Submarine Service. Started as a Seaman Recruit in 1968 and worked my way up through the ranks. Commissioned in 1980 and retired in 1994. Bought a banjo in 1974 (Kasuga) and have played on and off since then, only recently started to play with a serious desire to actually learn what I am doing... that's why I list myself as a "novice". I am probably closer to "intermediate" level but I have such an incredibly poor sense of timing that I can't say that I am any higher than a novice... I am working on it though. I recently bought the Mastertone and I know that it is out of my league but that is OK... I like it and that is all that matters.
