My daughter Nora Rogers (right) is holding the first banjo she built & designed. Winter 2006. On the left is her friend Patrick Zung, who made all the metal parts except for the tuners: ie. brackets, bracket shoes, stretcher band & copper inlay. I am playing this banjo on "Will There Be Any Stars in My Crown."

After a long hiatus to work on other projects, Nora is making another small batch of banjos based on this prototype -- they'll be have 11 l/2 inch rims as above & the same handmade hardware but the necks & rims will be walnut & the pegheads are to be slotted.

A slotted head would be lovely on this model

I remember the one you played. It was beautiful. I remember it as being an Ashborn reproduction. Will these new ones be the same and for sale? I would be very interested.

These are her own design, but...she had just been to the Banjo Collectors' Gathering where she had seen & admired a couple of Ashborns. I'll post a picture of the prototype slothead model.
