This is the same song as Another Rainy Day3, but with my Nechville Classic banjo, a wonderful banjo! If you care to, listen to both versions you will no doubt hear the difference of the banjos I've used.

Another version where I've used my Fawley made 250 (a fine banjo!) and Larrivee D60 on this one, in addition to my Weber Gallatin mandolin, acoustic bass, and Gann curly maple dobro.

This is an experiment with a song I wrote using my Presonus Firebox audio interface plugged into my Macbook laptop and along with Garageband. I am playing my Weber Gallatin mandolin, Taylor GS acoustic guitar, Gold Star 100 banjo, and my acoustic bass.

(Recorded before I bought my Presonus interface). The words, "don't hit me with your Bible" popped into my head out of the blue. Before you take the song as anti-Bible, take a listen to the lyrics. I don't claim to be an expert in Bible content, but I have had some interesting discussions with people who interpret some things quite differently from what I do, so I've expressed a few thoughts in this song. I'm playing my Gold Star banjo, Larrivee D60 guitar, and Weber Gallatin mandolin. I also added some dobro into the mix,

This is a song of hope I've written for those who have lost a loved one or are in the process of losing someone near and dear to them.

Here's an experiment with one of my original tunes. I'm giving the dobro a little extra work in this one. I used my Nechville banjo. The first melody I used for this one was way different from what you hear in this tune. I realized I had used at least part of a melody from another song I did, so I decided to put a minor sound and go with a completely different melody than first intended.

An original tune that's hard to sit still while listening..at least for me :-) I'm playing my Nechville banjo and the guitar is a Larrivee D-60. Gold Tone Paul Beard dobro, Weber Gallatin mandolin.

Here is a song I am working on about Lena, who as a 24 year old woman from the far north of Norway left to visit her brother in Minnesota, and while there met and fell in love with the man who would become her husband. Her father insisted she come back to Norway and because she did not comply, he disowned her and they never had contact again before her father died, two years before she passed on. Lena is my farmor (father's mother). I am playing my Taylor guitar, Nechville banjo, and Weber mandolin.

A live cut of Devil's Highway from a recent concert (August 22, 2009) on the shores of Mille Lacs Lake in north centeral Minnesota. We start out with one of our players in the wrong key and while I'm not claiming it to be exemplary, you can hear how we handled the gaff. The banjo I'm playing is my Deering Hartford, which I have taken a liking to, and am amazed at what comes out of that grenadillo tone ring. This is an original tune I wrote.

This is a song I wrote about a mine disaster on the Cuyuna Iron Range in Minnesota. As a young boy, my cousin and I used to ride our bikes about 3 or 4 miles to a small town named Cuyuna to visit his Grandma. She would tell us stories, often about things back in Croatia, or what she called "the old country," and feed us cookies and kool-aid. This song is based on a story she told us one time about a dream she had the night before the mine disaster in February of 1924. As you listen you'll hear the story unfold The facts in the song that go along with what she told us are true. I'm playing a banjo Wyatt Fawley made, Webber mandolin for the chop, and my Larrivee D60 guitar.

An original song to feature my Nechville Classic banjo. The guitar is my Rainsong acoustic, Weber Gallatin mandolin, and my Peavy bass. It is a work in progress. There is some sound quality loss in the transfer 'but that Nechville banjo still sounds sweet.

I hope you enjoy this song I wrote and dedicated to a friend who passed away in November of 2007. She inspired me to write it when I visited her at the nursing home, and which turned out to be our last conversation together before she passed. Our group (Churchyard) sang the song at her funeral Nov. 30. We haven't recorded the song, so what you are hearing is me :-) on guitar (Rainsong), dobro (Gold Tone Paul Beard Deluxe), banjo (Alvarez 4300), and mandolin chop (Weber Gallatin) :) I like the mellow recorded sound I get from the Alvarez.

An attempt at a 3/4 melody which incorporates the guitar (Taylor 710), dobro (Gann), mandolin (Weber), and banjo (combination of Hartford and Gold Star 100). This is a work still in progress, but this recording is what has so far evolved. I've played in all the tracks, so there's only one person to point the finger at for any goof ups. :)
