From bluesman Julius Daniels--this was one of the songs found on Harry Smith's Anthology of American Music. This version was done by a band I'm in called Corpse Reviver--we mostly focus on the music found on the Anthology. Jillian Rae -- fiddle; Mikkel Beckmen -- percussion; Adam Kiesling -- banjo and voice

From the playing of West Virginia songster Dick Justice. Bayless Rose also had a version recorded around the same time (~1929/1930). Jeff Menzies tackhead banjo on loan from a friend. Strung with gut, and it might be tuned in double-F.

A tune that dates from the minstrel tradition (aka "Jimmy Crack Corn" or "Get Up in the Morning"). I've been trying to mess around with some different OT finger styles, and this happened to fall out. In the neighborhood of double B on my Brooks banjo.

From Bob Dylan's "The Times They Are A-Changin' " album. He used the melody of "Pretty Polly" for this one, so that's how I approached it. I'm in G modal, and my friend Meghan is fiddling.
