This is a version of Cumberland Gap in G. I learned the tune this past summer from Tim Bing. He originally learned this versions from a banjo player in Barboursville, WV names "Boo-Boo" Rayme. Boo-Boo was a rather reclusive banjo player and not too many people knew of him. The last lick in the b part at the end of the tune is one of "Boo-Boo's". I am playing this tune on my 1923 Vega Tubaphone

This tune is in D and is on the torque converter. I play this in three parts. The third part comes from Hampshire County Wv and I don't recall ever playing the third part outside the eastern panhandle

Here is greasy coat tuned in G. I am fretted the 1st fret of the second string for the parts that need the C, and not fretting when the B is needed.

I'm playing this in G, because i was practicing a bunch of g tunes, and didn't want to tune it up to a. I'll post another in "a" later on. I learned this from Ben Townsend and it is kinda in a Wade Ward style. My tubaphone is stuffed with a pillowcase, so i don't wake the neighbors.

I learned this version of Reuben's Train about a month or so ago. This is a modal version that I am playing in standard G tuning (gDGBD). I am fretting the first fret of the second string, so I can still use the b when needed. This is the way I approach most of my G modal tunes.
