I heard Flatt and Scruggs and had to know how it was done. Iwas in a great spot to listen and watch many of the greats on a weekly basis. I have played Banjo and Guitar as a member of The Bluegrass Alliance, The Dillards ( 19 years ), Doug Dillard Band, Vassar Clements Band, The Cumberlands, The Katy Laur Band and a few with less reputation. I played bass with the Goins Brothers for a season or so. Side man for Mac Wiseman, Hazel Dickens, Jean Ritche, Pam Gadd, McCarter Sisters, and others that do not come to mind right now. A few shows with Monroe, sat in with Phish, Doc and Dawg, Sam Bush. Lost the New Grass gig to Bela and ended up with Dean and Rodney in the Dillards would not have missed it for the world! Lost some Grammies and a Pulitzer at least I got in the game. Opry, HEE HAW, Nashville Now, NPR, Good Morning America I have more and less patience than I used to. Love to all it takes to much to truly hate.
